Zog is a character who appears in the game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus.
Description[]
Zog is a Triceraton trooper under orders to capture the Fugitoid. When he chased down the Fugitoid and his turtle companions to an asteroid, all of them, Zog, and a small handful of both Triceraton and Federation army members were teleported to Earth where they continued to engage each other in combat. While the two faction's troops were eventually teleported back into space, Zog managed to escape during the conflict, retreating into Earth's sewers.
Zog appears only in animated cutscenes, starting with the end of Stage 9-2: The Sewers. As the Turtles explore the Sewers of New York, they come across Zog whose breathing mask is damaged, causing oxygen to enter. Zog introduces himself to the turtles, believing they are his superior officers. As Leonardo plays along by acting as a one, Zog proceeds to reveal his serial number of XJ4, followed by his situation. Donatello repairs Zog's breathing mask, and Zog slowly regains his strength. He proceeds to tag along with the Turtles in the next stage: 9-3: The Sewers. Zog and the Turtles discover a wounded Splinter within the Sewers and proceed to take him to their home. After some distance, the Turtles and Zog run into another Splinter claiming to be the real one. Eventually the Footmech Splinter reveals itself and attacks the turtles. During this battle however, Zog does not seem to participate, being seen on the sidelines after the battle concludes.
Zog does not appear during the Turtle's travels to the Unknown City. Where he resided during this time is unknown.
Zog reappears alongside the Turtles and Splinter during their infiltration of the freighter Kuraiyama. Zog is seen in the weapons hangar as the Turtles engage in combat against Hun, but Zog does not appear to join the fight. Similarly, he is on the sidelines while Leonardo battles against Karai. As Slashuur appears on the Main Deck, Zog joins him and Splinter on an assault against a Foot Mech army, while the Turtles engage in combat against the Shredder. After the battle, Zog is shown declaring victory, but unbeknownst to him, he is blindsided by Shredder, stabbed by him on his left side, knocking him unconsciousness. As the Shredder closes in to attack the Turtles and Splinter, Zog quickly regains consciousness and bear hugs the Shredder. Zog says a few words while carrying the Shredder: he says to tell "them" that Zog fought bravely for his comrades, for the Republic, for victory! Zog voluntarily falls in with the captured Shredder as he screams his last words of victory, sacrificing his life to protect his comrades. Raphael attempts to try and save Zog but is halted by Splinter, who claims that Zog's brave sacrifice should not be dishonored. Zog perishes along with the destruction of the Kuraiyama.
