The zero-matter scalpel is a tool from Dimension X. It appears in the Saturday Morning Adventures comic series.
History[]
After Shredder steals a meteorite from the labs at TCRI, Krang attempts to cut it so that they can use it for various things, including forging a blade that can cut through reality itself. None of Earth's tools will even scratch the meteorites surface, so Krang contacts General Traag in Dimension X. He tells Traag to send him a zero-matter scalpel. Traag tries to explain that zero-matter doesn't interact well with their Dimensional Transporter, but Krang doesn't want excuses. When he has the zero-matter scalpel at hand, Traag once more tries to warn that it could react unpredictably with the dimensional door. Krang yells at him to send it now, which Traag does. Unfortunately, the zero-matter energy interacts with something else between dimensions and gets redirected. The zero-matter scalpel winds up in a Florida swamp and is found by Leatherhead. Thinking that it's some kind of gun, he points the tool at a stump and is delighted when the stump is blown to pieces.
The sensor that Donatello created to sniff out dimensional energy pings and alerts the Turtles to the portal opening. They are dismayed to find it's where the Punk Frogs live. Deciding that it's too dangerous for the Frogs to deal with, Raphael and Donatello travel to Florida. They are met by Rasputin and Attila who stayed behind to help them, while the other two Punk Frogs traveled to New York City. Taking an airboat, the group tracks the portal signal but Leatherhead destroys their boat out from under them. They fight Leatherhead for possession of the zero-matter scalpel, but it soon runs outs of energy and he tosses it aside. Unseen by any of them, Shredder has been watching from a tree branch nearby and when everyone is temporarily blinded by one of Rasputin's arrows, he grabs the zero-matter scalpel. Having managed to steal the zero-matter scalpel from the Turtles and Punk Frogs, Shredder reports his success to Krang. He adds that it seems to have run out of power. Krang informs him that it recharges itself easily, if one knows what they are doing. Swapping Pads, part 2
