Yamamoto Yukichi is an anthropomorphic rabbit from the Usagi Yojimbo comics. His first real journey out into the world was to fulfill the dying wish of his sensei and it was through this journey that he met Miyamoto Usagi, with whom he now travels.
History[]
Lord Noriyuki leads his forces on a final campaign to end Lord Hikiji's reign. They set up camp outside of a village, and the villagers approach Miyamoto Usagi and guilt him into killing a kappa that had been drowning villagers. While Noriyuki, Tomoe Ame, Murakami Gennosuke, Jotaro, and Yamamoto Yukichi made plans for their next steps, Usagi asks for permission to take time from his duties to help the villagers. Noriyuki gives him until sundown to kill the kappa. Tomoe, Jotaro, and Yukichi agree to accompany Usagi on his mission. While Usagi and Tomoe Ame go one direction, the others go another way. They do not see the kappa, but do see a flash of light and then the Ninja Turtles appear in front of them. WhereWhen Part One
Thinking them to be kappa, Jotaro and Yukichi attack the Turtles, though Yukichi says they are not like any kappa he's ever seen. After realizing that Leonardo knows Usagi, Jotaro tells Yukichi to put down his sword. Usagi and Ame arrive and introductions are made. Later, after a feast, the group strolls outside where Usagi apologizes to the Turtles for being unable to provide them with help on their quest. The ground begins to shake then, and they all find themselves under attack by the Mogura Ninja. WhereWhen Part Two
Yukichi joins the others in battling the Mogura Ninja. Though surrounded, he and Jotaro hold their own until the Mogura are driven off. After questioning a captured Mogura, they learn that it was Dr. WhereWhen who sent them to kill Lord Noriyuki and overthrow the Shogun, and that WhereWhen is using the name Dokoitsu. Noriyuki decides that they need proof of this plot and allows Usagi, Jotaro, Yukichi, Chizu, and the Neko Ninja to accompany the Turtles on a reconnaissance mission. WhereWhen Part Three
Traveling through a forest, Usagi, Jotaro, Yukichi, the Turtles, and Neko Ninja finally spot WhereWhen's castle. Chizu notes that she has sent some Neko Ninja scouts before them but they have not yet reported back, which they absolutely should have by that point. One of the Neko Ninja accompanying them points out the scouts' corpses and Yukichi tells everyone to be on their guard. Shortly they are assaulted by a giant robot spider, with one of the Neko Ninja being impaled by one of its legs. Usagi realizes there isn't just one robot spider... they are surrounded by them. They eventually prevail, but are then ambushed by a giant mechanical dragon. Chizu destroys it by tossing a large firecracker into its mouth. WhereWhen Part Four
At the castle, the group of heroes battle more of Dr. WhereWhen's robotic forces. The Turtles manage to break through the door and enter, only for Dr. WhereWhen to order his Samuroids to kill them all. The Samuroids, joined by more of the regular robots, are overwhelming the heroes, but Yukichi slices his way past several and reaches the energy transmitter. Donatello tells Yukichi to switch off the main frame, but the warrior rabbit doesn’t understand his words. When Michelangelo says they have to turn it off somehow, Yukichi still doesn’t know what that means, but knows it must destroyed. He lifts his sword and plunges it into the machine. He immediately receives an intense shock. His ploy works, as all of the robots cease to function. Usagi rushes to his cousin. He lifts Yukichi into his arms. Yukichi asks if Usagi is out of danger and learns that he is. Yukichi tells Usagi not to grieve because he had to do it, and then he dies. WhereWhen Part Five
