Synopsis[]
During a completely uneventful day, Alopex, Jennika, Mona Lisa and Sally Pride are sitting around Alopex's shelter, feeling bored. Jenny asks the others what they do for fun. Al likes to train, Sally likes to reverse engineer alien technology, and Mona is passionate for social justice...and studying. Though many of their interests appear not to mesh, Mona suggests a girls night in—a concept foreign to the others.
Later in Mona's apartment, the four women are sitting around casually. Mona suggests they give each other makeovers, but Jenny, who spent some of her formative years in prison, asks if it's anything like giving each other tattoos. In the next scene, Jenny is wearing lipstick and makeup, but thinks she looks ridiculous. Sally's hair is wrapped in a towel and she has cucumber slices on her eyes, and asks again why she's doing it. And Mona has her hair in curlers and is trying to paint Al's toenails.
Next, Mona suggests arts and crafts, and Jenny asks if it's anything like carving a shiv from a spoon. In the next scene, Jenny is painting onto a canvas as Al tries to hold a pose for her. Mona is knitting, while Sally is playing cat's cradle with some of the yarn. But the situation collapses when Jenny and Al start sparring with paintbrushes and Sally gets knocked onto her side.
Next, Mona suggests baking, and Jenny thinks of baking a file into a cake. The next scene is in Mona's kitchen where the sink and countertops have quickly become a mess. Jenny is taking a pan of burnt cookies out of the oven as Al tries to clear smoke out of the room. Sally tries eating one of the previous batch of cookies, but it tastes terrible.
Next, Mona suggests board games. Jenny asks if it's anything like gambling for cigarettes in a poker game. In the next scene, the women are kneeling around the coffee table playing Money-Poly. As Sally makes her move, Mona informs her that she owes $1000 in play money. Sally does not have enough, so Mona tells her she's out of the game. Sally angrily flips the game board.
Visibly frustrated and running low on ideas, Mona suggests they watch a movie together. In the next scene, the women are sitting in front of the television with a bucket of popcorn, but Jenny and Sally are clearly bored, and Al has already fallen asleep. Jenny hits Al with a pillow to wake her up, and Al grabs the pillow and hits back at Jenny with it. Before long, the couch has been knocked over, the living room is a wreck, and no one is having a good time.
Mona concedes that they aren't exactly normal women, and asks the others what they want to do. In the next scene, Jenny and Al are sparring, Sally is tinkering on a machine with her tools, and Mona is reading a book, and they are all finally enjoying themselves.
