The World Trade Center were two skyscrapers on the Manhattan Island in New York City. They were destroyed in a terrorist attack on September 11, 2001 ("9/11"), when two hijacked airplanes were crashed into the buildings.
TMNT appearances
- In the episodes Enter the Fly and The Big Blow Out, of the 1987 TMNT cartoon, the buildings appear.
- In one issue of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles volume 4 (Issue Needed), a newscaster likens the panic of the Utroms arriving to that of the events of 9/11.
