Synopsis[]

“It started out like any other day.” Michelangelo is sound asleep on the lair’s couch. He is surrounded by pizza boxes and has a Bill Anvil – Private Eye comic open across his face. Splinter taps Mikey’s face with his walking stick and tells him it’s time to get up. When he tries to ignore his father, Splinter smacks him with the stick, startling him awake.

Splinter reminds his son that he has much to do and Mikey is agreeable, he just needs a little pick-me-up first. He opens a pizza box and finds it empty, which he considers the worst possible mealtime crime – pizza theft.

Rushing away from Splinter, Mikey nabs a trench coat and hat off of the coat rack, intent on investigating. He takes a magnifying glass from Donatello’s lab and calls himself Mike Angel, Private Eye.

Using the magnifying glass, he checks the couch and finds crumbs everywhere. Besides himself, there is only one other guy who could be that messy and goes to find Raphael. He finds his brother lifting weights and confronts him, asking if he got his strength from a slice of pineapple and sausage. Annoyed, Raph asks what he’s talking about and Mikey insists he tell him what he knows about missing pizza. Mikey says he’s looking for clues, but Raph tells him the only clue he’s got is to quit interrupting his workout or he’ll rattle Mikey’s skull. Since Mikey doesn’t find any crumbs, he considers Raph innocent.

Moving on, Mikey realizes he needs to look for someone with brains. In his lab, Don is performing some very delicate work. Mikey suddenly grabs the desk lamp and swings it up so that the light shines in Don’s face. Don shouts that he was in the middle of a delicate procedure, but Mikey doesn’t care because all he wants to know is where Don was last night. Donnie answers that he was in his lab and for Mikey to leave the lamp alone before he breaks it. Because Don was so focused on his new project, Mikey figures he had no time to swipe pizza and marks him off the suspect list.

Mikey believes he has one viable suspect left and figured he’d have to play hardball with this one. In the living room, Leonardo is reading a comic book. Mikey comes up behind him and clears his throat to get Leo’s attention. Turning, Leo demands to know what Mikey is doing in his coat. Mikey says he’s looking for answers, but Leo reminds him that he’s supposed to be in the dojo.

Refusing to be distracted, Mikey asks if Leo remembers the pineapple and sausage pizza, which of course he does. Mikey suddenly holds up Leo’s Super Robo Mecha Force Five! Captain Dash action figure and Leo shouts that the collectible piece is off limits. He tries to take it from Mikey, who tells him to admit stealing the pizza and this can all end. Leo very loudly yells that he didn’t take the pizza and the crazed look in his eye makes Mikey thinks he’s telling the truth.

Later, Mikey calls the whole family to the living room and tells them that someone took the last slice of pizza – his slice. He says he’s finally figured out who it was - - and accuses Master Splinter!

He proceeds to line out his reasoning, saying that Splinter was the only one there when he found the crumbs. Splinter responds that he wasn’t the only one there and uses his walking stick to push the coat off of Mikey. The missing slice of pizza has been stuck to Mikey’s shell the entire time. Mikey realizes he must have rolled over on it while he slept. His brothers scold him and then are sickened to see that despite being dirty, Mikey intends to eat the nasty thing. Mikey tells them he earned it.
