Some TMNT stuff really isn't for little kids.

The Warp Turtles were a trio (currently a duo) of mutant turtle-like entites created by Donatello using the Warp Crystal.

History[]

Seeking to replace the family he had driven away, Donatello used the Warp Crystal in an effort to create a new one. However, they were unable to exist for more than a few days at a time, as the Warp Crystal utilizes QNA without any data beyond the thoughts of its user, and required something corporeal. Eventually, Don used his own QNA and drew three to life - Max, Pris, and Roy - named for characters in the science fiction novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? However, Don shunned his "children" eventually, seeing the worst of himself in all of them.

While on a quest to locate his future self to stop Armaggon, Donatello, along with Venus, end up at StockGen in the past, just before the mutation of the Turtles, Splinter, and Old Hob. After ensuring that their mutation was not interrupted, they are attacked by Bob. His assault on the two Turtles is interrupted by the Warp Turtles, who knock out Bob.

The Warp Turtles introduce themselves to Don and Venus, and explain their origin and treatment at the hands of the Future Don. Present Don is aghast at how his future self has behaved, and insists that even though he just met them, he only sees how the eclipse him and make up for his faults. He offers to have them come with him and Venus, but Future Don suddenly appears from a portal. Present Don implores for him to help stop Armaggon, but Future Don brushes him off, instead saying that he's going to erase the Warp Turtles, who are "only drawings" to him.

This angers Present Don, and he and Venus attempt to stop him. The Warp Turtles join in, and Future Don keeps fighting them off, until he activates the Warp Crystal and swipes Max with it, unravelling him from existence. This heinous act drives Present Don even further into rage, and he conjures a giant hand from his gofu, grabbing Future Don and holding him above the ground. He yells at his future counterpart that he betrayed the oath that Splinter had them make to never kill, and is similarly disgusted that he killed his own son. Future Don is emotionally moved slightly by Present Don's words, and when he lets him go, tells him he can't help him fight Armaggon, but gives him a box and leaves through a portal.

Don investigates his future self's box and recognizes a symbol on it from his future self's journal. Pris and Roy explain that it signifies permeance, and can protect one from the entropic effects of time. Don asks if he can alter the sigil to represent impermanence, and together the three of them deduce how to change it. Don changes the sigil on the journal and it unlocks, allowing him to read coordinates written there. Don inputs the coordinates on his Anti-Gravity Gauntlet and opens a portal to that destination, just as Bob breaks out of Venus' barrier. Don, Venus, and the remaining Warp Turtles flee through it before Bob can reach them.

They land in feudal Japan, just after the Hamato sons were killed, and as Krang was instructing Sulfurch to have Ma'riell collect the Hamatos' QNA. Don, Roy, and Pris attack Krang and put him out of commission. Tang Shen's spirit then appears to Don and she encourages him to help complete their origin. He harvests his past self and brothers' QNA and gives it to Venus. Don draws a bellflower in the ground with his and instructs his future kids to place the gofu in each petal. He intends to bring Armaggon down to size, but the shark needs to swallow the box with the impermanence sigil on it to do so. Bob and Armaggon show up, Venus takes the sigil and sacrifices herself in lieu of Donatello, being swallowed up whole to ensure he ingests it. When Armaggon starts to dry up, Bob experiences a breakdown when he's flooded by Lita's memories and Don takes the opportunity to smack him with his bō take back all of the QNA he'd stolen.

The now much smaller Armaggon begins to attack, and Roy, Don, and Pris fight back. Armaggon bites off Don's gauntlet and Pris pulls him back to safety, Don utilizes a piece of Venus' dragon scale to enforce the reactions of permeance and impermanence at once, freezing Armaggon in place, likely forever. With that, Don, Roy, and Pris take their leave. TMNT #150
