A walking stick is a device whose primary use is to aid walking, provide postural stability/support, or assist in maintaining good posture. Walking sticks, also known as walking canes, have also historically been used as fashion accessories and sometimes for self-defense. Some of these sticks or canes even hide small knives or swords, which can be extracted by pulling on the knob or curved portion at the top. More ornate sticks include metal or brass knobs of various designs. A shooting stick is a walking stick which can fold out into a single-legged seat.

The walking stick is used within the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise by Master Splinter. He uses one for walking, but also as his primary self-defense weapon.
