Synopsis[]

After returning the gear that the Turtles stole from T.C.R.I. under the Rat King's influence, Professor McGuffin requests that the Turtles help find a sea probe that has mysteriously disappeared after it went to investigate an anomaly on the ocean floor. The Turtles oblige, in part due to feeling bad for committing theft.

The Turtles take a sub down to find the probe, but they are suddenly attached by a mechanical squid, which squeezes their sub and damages their navigation equipment and takes them to a domed city.

The denizens open up the Turtles' sub and suddenly are surprised. They take them to their king and queen (Lodrom and Kallista, respectively), who are excited to see them. The domed kingdom they have been brought to is Turtlantis, a nation of amphibious people whose entire structure are themed around turtles. Leonardo introduces himself and his brothers to the royals, and then tells them they're from a surface city looking for a missing scientific probe. Kallista says they have it, and that it can't be found because their dome blocks the signal, but they sent their "Mechanosquid" to see if anybody would come to retrieve it. Lodrom says that they can return the probe, but first they have a problem, and judging by their weapons, he thinks they can help.

The Turtles prepare for combat, wondering how hard their opponent must be if the four of them were recruited to fight one combatant. Donatello wonders about the possibilities of what sort of scientific knowledge can be shared if he helps open a dialogue between Professor McGuffin and the Turtlantians, while Michelangelo puts on a familiar outfit and Raphael tells him to take it off, or he's not going anywhere.

The Turtles step out with Turtlantian weapons and helmets, and suddenly are faced with their powerful foe... Slash! He apparently saw the Mechanosquid in the water and chased after it, wanting the "shiny thing", and it took him to Turtlantis, where the guards then took him to the arena. Turtlantis has laws that make the arena champion more important than the king, and thus he's been terrorizing the nation with his status.

Slash overpowers the Turtles and Donatello realizes that they're not strong enough to force him to leave. He uses his spear to vault up to the king and queen, and asks if their people are amphibious. Lodrom says they are and the dome is only in place because he prefers his socks to be dry (despite being barefoot...). Donatello says he thinks that he can force Slash to leave on his own, but they'd have to break the dome to do it. Kallista says they can just open the vents at the entrance gate and do it that way.

Donatello returns and tells his brothers to make a run for the sub. Slash chases them and they get to the sub, with Donatello closing the door to the hangar bay before he gets there to slow him down. He opens the vents to the entire city and water begins rushing in, with Slash breaking through the door just as the Turtles take off. Slash latches onto the sub as they speed through the water, and tries to break into it. Donatello has the sub do a barrel roll and Slash is flung off and dazed long enough for them to get away. As they escape, he tells them that he told the king and queen to leave the city underwater for a few weeks so that Slash was unlikely to return, as he can stay underwater for a long time, but not forever. However, in their haste, they forgot to retrieve the probe, and with their navigation equipment still damaged, they can't find their way back to Turtlantis.

Fortunately, as long as they head west until they hit the coast and then follow the sun, they should be home in time for pizza. Leonardo says that they should be able to give the helmets they were wearing to Professor McGuffin to study, and also as proof that they were able to at least locate the probe.

Meanwhile, Slash has washed up on a tiny island with a single palm tree, which he vows to enjoy until he can plot to crush the Turtles once and for all. He asks the seagull on his head if they agree that his current situation is "the best thing in the world", then grumbles "who asked you" when it caws in response.
