Venom is a super-steroid from the DC Comics universe. It is best known for its association with the Batman villain, Bane.
When intravenously pumped into the body, it has the effect of giving superhuman strength and an increase in physical size. Psychologically, it gives the user a feeling of invincibility and fuels their aggressions.
Venom became an important plot point in the comic miniseries Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II, when Bane was transported to the Turtles' universe. While taking control of New York, he made Baxter Stockman synthesize a new form of Venom, which he introduced to Rocksteady, Bebop and the Foot Clan in order to make them more effective fighters.
When all other avenues seemed exhausted, Donatello dosed himself with Venom in order to be able to beat his enemies. However, he later confirmed that this form of Venom was not stable, and he created a gas that could flush it quickly from the user's system.
