[Story begins inside the Turtle Lair. The Turtles and Splinter are watching April's weather report on the TV.]

April O'Neil "Bad news for all you New Yorkers who are tired of the nonstop rain we've had recently..."

April O'Neil "Not only is there no end in sight, but it's about to get worse as a supercell storm is making its way to the area!"

April O'Neil "Watch out for increased wind and lightning strikes--it could get dangerous out there."

April O'Neil "This is April O'Neil, Channel 6 News!"

Donatello "Why is April reporting the weather? Don't they have a meteorologist?"

Michelangelo "Maybe they, like, got tired of the rain and stormed out."

Raphael "Ugh, that was bad, even for you!"

Leonardo "Aw, and I was really loooking forward to going on patrol tonight!"

Splinter "Consider it another opportunity to focus on your training, my sons."

Splinter "I've devised several new exercises, and--"

Splinter "--and you don't seem excited by that."

Raphael "We're just going a little stir-crazy, Master Splinter."

Raphael "We've been training nonstop all week! We could use a change of pace."

Splinter "If you have a suggestion, I'm willing to consider it."

Donatello "Actually, Master... I do!"

Donatello "Here it is, guys--The... uh... actually, I haven't come up with a name for it yet."

Splinter "An impressive machine, Donatello, but I fail to see how this will aid in your training."

Donatello "It's like virtual reality, Master, but more advanced than any other VR system in the world--our brains actually plug into, and become a part of, the game!"

Splinter "And that would be useful in what way?"

Donatello "Well... Reflexes are the result of the body's physical memory--"

Donatello "So, in theory, training our brains in the right way should help us improve our skills!"

Donatello "We just put this VR helmets on and let our senses guide us!"

Raphael "Are you saying you made a video game to help us practice ninjutsu?"

Michelangelo "Dude, if it makes pizza, too, I might be in love!"

Leonardo "I'm with Master Splinter--I don't see how this can help."

Donatello "Why don't you let me show you?"

Raphael "Yeah, Leo, what can it hurt? Unless you are worried this is just another thing I can kick your butt in..."

Leonardo "I'm just thinking about the storms."

Leonardo "Wearing helmets plugged into a machine feels a little unsafe if there's a lightning strike."

Raphael "Yeah, yeah--Sounds like you're being more chicken than turtle"

Donatello "I build in multiple redundancies to protect against power surges, Leo. It's perfectly safe!"

Michelangelo "That sounds like a blast, Master Splinter. Can we try?"

Splinter "Well... I suppose it can't hurt for one afternoon."

Michelangelo "All right! I gor first dibs!"

Donatello "We can all play at the same time, Michelangelo--and the training program should give us all a real challenge."

Donatello "So, everybody grab a helmet--"

Donatello "--and I'll see you all on the other side!"

Michelangelo "Wow, this is, like, so real!"

Leonardo "It's all in your head, Michelangelo. Your brain only thinks it's real."

Michelangelo "Well, I dunno--How does that make it different than anything else?"

Raphael "Okay, so... What do we do?"

Donatello "I'm gald you asked, Raphael. It's a simple game of capture the flag, but I programmed it to be more interesting."

Raphael "I hate it when you say interesting. What's the real deal?"

Donatello "If we can't capture the flag, it disappears, and we have to play random minigames to find it again. Winning is the only way to leave the simulation!"

Donatello "Well, that and this emergency failsafe I programmed to look like my Turtle Communicator."

Raphael "So when you said interesting, you meant complicated?"

Donatello "Sigh. Genius is never appreciated in its time..."

Donatello "Who's ready to try level one?"

Raphael "Last one in is a rotten pizza!"

Michelangelo "There's no such thing, dude!"

Michelangelo "Hey, wait a minute--I know that tree! It's from Spooky Filed 2!"

Michelangelo "And that bird is from The Doom of The Dark Dodo!"

Donatello "Yeah, I kinda used the code from some of your old video games as the base of parts of the simulation."

Donatello "But instead of the bosses from those games--"

(Donatello) "--I programmed versions of our enemies in! They should give us a pretty good workout for our skills!"

Leonardo "Let's find out! Turtle Power!"

Raphael "Y'know, he just can't help but yell that, can he?"

Raphael "All rigth, Shred-head--It's go time!"

Leonardo "Look out for the--"

Michelangelo "Dude! He's so fast!"

Raphael "Wow, man, that really hurt!"

Michelangelo "Yeah, turns out pain is in your head, too."

Leonardo "Is that why you sat this one out, Donatello?"

Donatello "No, I was just taking mental notes on how to improve the simulation even further."

Leonardo "You could've at least helped us win first--"

Leonardo "Hey, he's vanishing!"

Donatello "That's right! Now we have to play the minigames to get back to the flag capturing stage. You guys ready for that?"

Raphael "What the shell was that? My brain feels like a fried egg!"

Donatello "It must've been a power surge... I guess I underestimated those storms."

Donatello "I'll disconnect us, and we can try this another--"

Donatello "UH-OH."

Leonardo ""Uh-oh"? What do you mean, "uh-oh"?"

Donatello "Well, my emergency kill switch isn't working--so now we won't be able to leave the game until we can capture that flag and beat it."

Michelangelo "You mean we could be trapped here?"

Michelangelo "But Casey and April are supposed to bring over some pizza from a new place that does peanut butter and raisins on the crust--I can't miss that, dudes! I can't!"

Raphael "Calm down, you donut--We'll win. We always do."

Raphael "We just gonna beat one of those minigames to get back to the flag, right, Donnie?"

Donatello "Check. But it's completely random--Only one of us need to win, but it could be any of us!"

Leonardo "There's only one way to find out, Donatello! Let's start the next level!"

Donatello "Well, here goes nothing..."

Donatello "Wait a second, this is Let's Go Krazy Kart! That wasn't one of the minigames I programmed in!"

Donatello "The jolt we took must've srambled my program and sent us all into some of the old code!"

Donatello "That means--ulp-that means anything could happen!"

Donatello "Oh, the guys will never let me hear the end of this!"

Raphael "Hey, I recognize this game! What was it called again?"

Raphael "On rigth--Soda Jerks. The hero climbs a building while an angry soda jerk throws stuff at him."

Raphael "Who comes up with this stuff?"

Raphael "I never did beat this thing--but there's a first time for everything!"

Fake Rocksteady "Aw, but Bebop, what if I spill some on my nice white uniform? It might stain!"

Michelangelo "When Tempestra's eyes flash pink--"

Raphael "It's about time--next time I see a bottle of soda, I'm gonna flip!"

Donatello "If it glitches to much while we're still plugged in..."

Raphael "Oh, sure, let's just plug our brains into an experimental system during a storm."

Donatello "Master Splinter would say we learned a valuable lesson, and--look! There's the flag!"

Leonardo "All right, everyone--let's capture that flag and get out of here before it's too late!"

Raphael "Don't forget to say "Turtle Power"!"

Leonardo "I figured it was implied!"

Leonardo "Did you have to make the fake Shredder so fast, Donatello?"

Donatello "Sorry!"

Raphael "Well, let's not keep up the attacking one at a time part. We're not the bad guys in a kung fu movie! Let's just all go at Shredder at once and get that flag!"

Donatello "You're right--we do still have a tactical advantage after all!"

April o'Neil "Hey, guys! Brought those pizzas we talked about. "Ants on a log"" crust and everything."

April O'Neil "And I brought you guys a special treat for the rainy day..."

April O'Neil "A brand new video game! Who wants to play first?"
