Synopsis[]

It's Christmas Eve, and Leatherhead is lurking in the sewers when he hears two men dragging a dogfighting ring. He overhears them discussing Hun and mutants, which draws even more of his attention. He bursts in in the middle of a dogfight, demanding that they let the dogs go and attack him instead.

Hob arrives just then with a massive gun, being angry at Hun for starting this dogfighting ring without his permission in Hob's own warehouse. Leatherhead is belligerent towards him, but is more concerned with the fact that every human in the building has a gun. Hob tries to engage Leatherhead in conversation as they fight the humans away, suggesting that he's something like Slash, but Leatherhead argues that "monsters" do not have the bonds of family.

Despite their guns, the humans are no match for Leatherhead, who is able to lift and throw cars at them. Hob takes down Hun, who argues that they only do jobs that benefit Hob, and that he took a chance to make some money himself. Hob takes the money that Hun has made, only to be blindsided with Leatherhead's tail.

Hob argues that mutants have to stick together, and that Leatherhead can have a better life with him, but Leatherhead sees him as nothing but a liar. He argues that mutants are abominations who have no place in the natural world, and that he himself doesn't need Hob. Hob throws a grenade at Leatherhead that explodes some of the crates nearby, but the mutant alligator crashes through a wall, on fire but still very much alive. Hun is dragged out by Hob, but departs.

Down in his sewer lair, Leatherhead adds Hob to the list of people—including the Turtles—whom he has a grudge against. At his own home, Hob looks at a picture of the Mutanimals with Slash among their number.
