Ulixes is latin for Ulysses, the Latinised name of Odysseus, a legendary Greek king of Ithaca and the hero of Homer's epic poem the Odyssey.
- Odysseus is renowned for his brilliance, guile, and versatility.
In a reference to the Fugitoid's voice actor, David Tennant, who played the Doctor in the TV series Doctor Who, in The Weird World of Wyrm the Ulixes is revealed to be much larger inside than it looks from the outside, just like the Doctor's time and space ship, the TARDIS.
