The mother of Tyler, who is kidnapped in the 2003 TV series, appears in the episode "Lone Raph and Cub". Tyler's mother is a journalist who had a video tape showing an important criminal. One day, the criminal's men attacked her house to retrieve the video, and they eventually kidnapped her and her son. While in the gang's car, Tyler's mother gave him the video and told him to flee.
Tyler met up with Raphael who helped him rescue his mother.
