Turtlebot is a robot turtle created by Baxter Stockman, appearing in the 2003 TV series episode What a Croc.
Stockman, whose disembodied head now occupied an Utrom Exoskeleton, had tricked the mutant crocodile Leatherhead into thinking that he was a friend of the latter's Utrom family, and that the Ninja Turtles are their enemy. Stockman had been secretly building the Turtlebot as a ploy to defeat the Turtles. The Turtlebot was programmed with the data of each of the Turtles' fighting styles, making it essentially untouchable, as it knew how to counter each of the Turtles. They were able to defeat it by switching weapons, making their assaults unpredictable, as they had different fighting techniques and mannerisms when using their brothers' weapons. Through this, Stockman's charade was unraveled, exposing him as the accomplice of the renegade Utrom Ch'rell.
Skills, Powers, & Abilities[]
The Turtlebot's main ability was to program itself with the turles' fighting styles by scanning them with a yellow light from its eyes. Unfortunately, this also proved to be its weakness as when the Turtles changed tactics by switching weapons, it caused a logic paradox that confused it and left it unable to properly counter.
The Turtlebot was also equipped with nozzles in its wrists from which it could secrete a gold-colored resin that it could shape and harden into versions of the Turtles' individual weapons.
Trivia[]
- The Turtlebot was a possible reference to the character Metalhead from the 1987 series, who like it was an enemy robot with the ability to counter the Turtles' fighting styles. Unlike Metalhead however, Turtlebot was destroyed instead of being reprogrammed to be their ally.
