Summary[]
In one of the 972 rooms in the Tecnodromo there is an arcade, which is where Krang finds Bebop and Rocksteady. He shouts at them to stop fooling around and come help him. Bebop asks what’s happening, and Krang tells him that Shredder has gone crazy. Krays says to come and see, but to be silent. They find Shredder watch a movie and shouting fighting advice at the screen. Krang explains that he’s watched nothing except Japanese “monster” cartoons for two days. Bebop thinks this must be serious, but Rocksteady doesn’t understand because he likes them too. Holding a syringe, Krang says they must catch Shredder and treat him, whether he wants it or not.
Bebop and Rocksteady walk up to Shredder, trying to be nonchalant, but their boss demands to know what they want. Rocksteady tells him not to freak out because this is for his own good. The trio start fighting and Shredder tells them when he gets done, they’ll be the one who needs a doctor. With one foot holding Rocksteady down on the floor, and Bebop tucked under an arm, Shredder asks Krang what this is about. Krang tells him he’s watching too much TV. Shredder responds by telling Krang he should watch the animated cartoons, too. Krang replies that he does not care to, but Shredder says that’s too bad, because those warrior robots gave him a great idea.
Meanwhile, in the lair, Raffaello takes a bite of pizza and reacts with displeasure. Michelangelo thinks he’s sick for not liking his paprika and mustard pizza, but Raffaello tells him the pizza is sweet. He says Michelangelo must have used the wrong ingredients. His brother counters by saying that Raffaello has no taste. Then Michelangelo takes a sip of tea and immediately spits it out, saying that it’s very salty. Suddenly, Leonardo cries out for his brothers to come look. The polish he used on his swords made them like lead. Michelangelo points out that everything works in the opposite manner. Raffaello thinks it must be a Shredder plot, but then Donatello’s laughter draws his brothers over. He holds up a small bottle of liquid and still laughing, says they are going to kill him. Leonardo tells him to explain himself.
Donatello says that he just invented this Inverter Liquid. It reverses the chemical properties. Just one drop and the pizza toppings become sweet. Raffaello adds that the sugar in the tea turns salty, and Leonardo follows up by noting that the polish for his blades blackens them. Donatello thinks it was a nice joke, but his brothers are not amused. There is a sudden booming sound and the lair shakes. Leonardo says they must delay their revenge because there is an earthquake coming. Splinter finds the notion of an earthquake to be strange, so Leonardo says that they need to check it out.
On the surface, the source of the booming “earthquake” becomes clear. It is a gigantic robot Shredder look-alike, bearing numerous armaments. It is as tall as the nearby skyscrapers. Shredder pilots the robot and on a monitor, Krang asks if he’s found the Turtles. Shredder hasn’t, but he’s certain they’ll show up when they hear the noise, and then he’ll nullify them. Krang tells him to hurry up, because his big toy consumes too much energy.
The Turtles comes up to the surface and are stunned at what they see. Raffaello says that old “tin face” has become all tin. Shredder spots them and says they are finally there, but Michelangelo tells him there is nothing to joke about. Shredder begins firing on them and Leonardo orders a retreat. Donatello says that it’s moments like these that he regrets not being Godzilla. Leonardo and Donatello duck behind a delivery truck. After Leonardo says that the robot is a giant and they can’t defeat it with their usual weapons, Donatello tells him that he has an idea. He leaves for a few minutes and then comes back with spray paint guns. Leonardo doesn’t understand, but agrees to try anyway.
After Leonardo sprays some orange paint on the robot, Shredder discovers that whatever they did, his automaton no longer responds to commands. He decides that it’s better to move on while the emergency ejector works. Shredder blasts off as the robot starts disintegrating. Michelangelo is astonished that rust corroded the robot in a few seconds. Leonardo asks where Don found the secret weapon. Donatello says it was simply anti-rust paint with a generous addition of his inverter liquid.
At the Tecnodromo, the inhabitants are using candles to see by. Krang sarcastically congratulates Shredder for wasting all their energy. Shredder sighs because above all else, no television. Bebop says that until the batteries recharge, they will have to remain in the dark.
