Toei Animation is a well-known Japanese animation studio that produces many anime series, such as Dragon Ball, One Piece, Sailor Moon, and Digimon. In the 1980s, Toei was also often outsourced to provide animation assistance for non-Japanese animated series, including the first opening sequence and Season 1 of the 1987 TV series.[1]
In contrast to the various other animation studios used by the 1987 TV series over its run, the Toei-animated episodes were marked by a relatively high quality of character art stills, though with a low animation frame count per scene.
