Time Machine was a pair of garbage trucks converted into time travel vehicles by Krang. After reading a book on Ancient Egypt and finding a section on the mystery of the pyramids, Krang concludes that the Egyptians had some secret power and he means to discover what it was and use it against the world. His solution to the fact that the last pyramid was built centuries ago is to use the Time Machine he has just invented.
Krang's Time Machine turns out to be a converted garbage truck. Parked nearby is a second garbage truck, which is there in case the first blows up, news that does not fill Bebop with much confidence. As Footbots complete some last minute work on the Time Machine, Krang and the others climb in and get set to go to Ancient Egypt. Bebop asks if they speed forwards leaving a burning trail behind them, but Krang says no, they speed backwards, leaving a trail of rubbish in their wake. He does exactly that, running over a few Footbots on the way.
They accomplish a hard landing on sand, having reached Ancient Egypt, but are immediately taken captive by a group of Egyptians. Using their Time-Zone-To-Time-Zone Portable Phone, Shredder places a call to April O'Neil and begs for her assistance. She relays the information he's provided to the Hero Turtles, who go to the Technodrome and take the second Time Machine back in time. The Turtles rescue Krang, Shredder and the two mutants and the two groups flee back to their Time Machines ahead of pursuing Egyptians. Putting the Time Machines into reverse, the time travelers return to present day, but when they land, they are still moving and crash into each other.
