lol yeah I don't think that the ships should necessarily be the focus of the show; TMNT is made to concentrate on action, adventure, and cool fight scenes. However, I agree that the crushes are cute and they add some nice comic relief, and a healthy dose of romance never hurt anybody as long as it doesn't get carried away.
Totally, we all need a break from constant suspense and action.
YAY! Comment chains!
I hate to say this, but not everyone can get what they want. The reason why Peter Laird didn't have any human/mutant relationships was because the comics was not about romance. It had a sub-genre where the turtles and humans had relationships with one another, but that was not his or the other writers' focus. He may not be on the writing team, but they still make the decision who ends up with who. They're not going to satisfy everyone's needs, mind you. If they were, then the fans would be running the show. They do what they think will be for the best. I'm not saying everyone will happy with their decisions, but it's up to the viewers to either accept them or deny them. Okay? :)
Not trying to be mean; I'm just being honest.

If they did what the fans wanted it would become a sope opera and I would burn my tshirts coats lego sets action figures and plush raphael not to mention my wood painting of raphael and have a funeral now do we want that?

I agree that it would become a soap opera and the vision of the Turtles would be lost. There's a saying that if you try to please everyone you end up pleasing no one. I think that would be true in this case.
I understand, this is why i find the shippers of Donatello x April annoying, not all, but 99% of them, who are 10-14 years old girls.
