  • If you have thoughts on Revenge of the Triceratons, write it here.

    My thoughts:

The Turtles, April and Casey journey through the lost world of Magdomar to find the last piece of the black hole generator (Heart of Darkness)

Mozar and Zanmoran makes a deal with Lord Dregg to help the Triceratons capture the Turtles.

    • I think it'll be an homage to "Revenge of the Nerds" but with Triceratons instead of humans, and it'll be 90 minutes!

        Loading editor
    • What?! No it's not 90 minutes, how could you think that?

To the point, I know people are excited about the episode, even more after they see "Trans-dimensional Turtles" thanks to the hoopla going around about it, because RotT will be a Donnie centered episode but he should cut the Fugitoid some slack. First it was Casey, now Donnie has to be jealous of his friend and pretty much everybody's (including his) savior in the Fugitoid. Either way, if this episode bridges the upcoming "The Evil of Dregg" quite well we could be in for a whopper of the two final space arc episodes. Having to fight both of those forces (the Triceratons and Dregg) is going to be quite a tall order as we get closer to Earth.

Search your feelings-YOU KNOW IT TO BE TRUE!

Also I was joking if you couldn't tell.

Well, with the new plot details we just got, I actually could see that.

What new plot details, may I ask?

It somewhat is. Fugitoid is rendered "inoperable" after those missiles destroy the moon and the ship becomes rammed by the debris. So as of now, it's just Donatello (mostly) and the rest of the gang on their own until (most likely) the conlusion.

    • BY THE TENGU-what an episode, and so violent too! Remember in kids shows, if it bleeds green we can kill it on screen!

    • Great! Just great! Now the Turtles, April, Casey and Fugitoid are back to square one where they have to retrieve the 3 fragments of The Heart of Darkness before the Triceratons use it to destroy Earth (again). And we're only a couple of episodes 'til the mid-season finale, I really hope they can pull it off. (the turtles, not the triceratons)

    • But BEFORE that mid-season finale-TOKKA! And. He. Breaths. FIRE! THE TURTLES FIGHT EVIL GAMERA!

Am I to guess that bad writing has struck again?

This is bordering on trolling at this point. You keep finding reasons to hate the show. First it was because it was getting too close to the '87 series (which I don't really see aside from Mona Lisa, the crossover and a few references) now it's just bad writing. I'll agree that this season isn't the best, but looking for reasons to hate it makes me wonder why else would you keep bothering to comment if not for attention.

You can just stop watching and come back later if you want, you don't have to constantly rip on the series as much as possible.

No, I'm just peeved that the Triceratons got back the first 2 Black Hole Generator fragments. The writing is just fine. </div>

I'm here on Turtlepedia for other reasons besides just this particular TV series. But while I'm here, the series appears front and center in most people's discussions, which means I'm still here to see these discussions. And it's a TV series I really loved, which has gotten really bad, and I want better for its legacy than what it's currently doing. That means I still care what happens to it even when it's really bad. It's true that I no longer have much confidence in the showrunners' ability to maintain a good story. But at one time they did maintain a good story, and that's an important thing to remember going on.

And, if you're not aware, civil criticism is perfectly allowed on this site. This isn't just a site for people who are huge fans of everything current. I've been a TMNT fan (primarily of the Mirage comics) for a good quarter century. Fandoms have splits (it's part of the nature of the beast), and I'm regular enough here to feel secure in asking questions or making observations. And this thread isn't "everything we love about" this episode and nothing else. It's "thoughts on" this episode.

So please, do be civil and hold your temper.

    • Zakor1138:

Think of it this way. Over the few years I've been on this wiki, I've gone from raving about this series, to feeling occasionally jarred by it, to becoming outright appalled by it.

Imagine if you were a fan of Fast Forward and encountered 2003 series fans who constantly complained about it when that arc was new. Those people don't complain because they hate the show—they complain because they love the show, but hate what it's become and how much harm it's doing to the show they love. And those 2003 series fans never really warmed up to Fast Forward either—they still love the show, but they still hate what it became. At the end of the day, they are still fans, but the franchise has not always been kind to them as viewers.

The 2012 series is currently in its Fast Forward-like phase—its corresponding dork age if you're a fan like me. As one of my friends put it, "It's too soon for 2K12 to become Fast Forward."—he said that not out of incredulity, but out of disappointment and distaste for what the show has become.

    • I took a nap. I didn't want to lose my cool.

I've given thousands of hours of attention and analysis to this one TV series alone (and it's just one of several versions of TMNT I've given so much of my time to), I've contributed over 14500 edits to this wiki, I've created over 1000 animated GIFs (including the lion's share of all the 2012 series GIFs on this wiki), I'm the #2 ranked editor in achievements (only FernandoPandha is more achieved), and I've worked to cultivate a good working relationship with the wiki's various administrators.

So when this show gets worse, and continues to get worse even after I think it can't get any more bad, and I decide to periodically complain about it as it continues to get worse, I would really appreciate if you didn't call it "borderline trolling." It's been an especially difficult enough year for me as a TMNT fan as it is.

    • Its only as difficult as you make it man.

Onto the more pressing matter...you dominate topics with your opinion. Everytime a new episode topic pops up, you post essay after essay about how you feel the show has betrayed you and your friends beliefs in what a turtle story is, interlaced with your noted despisal of the 87 series. People will challenge said rant, prompting you to respond with more essays defending your position. Honestly, its gotten kind of repetitive. And finally, can you REALLY give thoughts on this episode in particular when you clearly haven't watched it? I like ya man, but your schtick has gotten old.

        Loading editor
    • You may have a point there. I let way too much of it get to me. Sorry. I guess I have felt a certain fatigue in it all.

I'm still a TMNT fan, you know? The last few years of good TMNT pulled me in really hard, and now that I'm in it up to my neck, I'm so disappointed with what's been going on with this series. I've been trying to give this series some space and focus mainly on other versions of TMNT and other articles. But this TV show is always here, always being discussed, always on other people's minds. It's not really easy to ignore, so like an idiot, I feel pulled back into the discussion. It's not schtick—it's old-fashioned fan burnout.

I should try to comment less, especially when I don't watch an episode. I guess part of me keeps wishing it would be good again, so I could have a nice show to watch. A part of me doesn't want to give up all hope. I just want one of my favorite animated series back, and to be something I can actually enjoy. I miss it.

    • I should probably make this clear. There are a lot of things I'll apologize for if someone points them out. I'll apologize for personal insults. I'll apologize for uncivil tone. I'll apologize for a faux pas and other honest personal mistakes. But I won't apologize for a sincere opinion about a TV show. Criticism of works of fiction is a free activity.

I used to really like this show, and it got so bad it became too difficult to watch. My friends who still watch it now and then, tell me it's still been really bad. That concerns me as someone who used to be glued to this show, and still worries about how it will affect other TMNT stuff down the road. I'm entitled that. We all are.

I've already had a long talk with Yoshimickster and I've made a resolution to dial back my tone, especially since I've been feeling TMNT fan gloom recently. It's another rough patch in a fandom that has had many, and I'll live through it.

Meanwhile, we're still allowed to criticize works of fiction, and we're still not allowed to personally attack other users. Sometimes being a fan isn't all about what you're totally enjoying at the moment. Sometimes there are periods of great disappointment in something you like. It is not a productive activity to take offense because someone else dislikes something you like. The TMNT fandom is full of people with opposite opinions about stuff, and it pretty much always has been. In light of this, a little civility goes a long way.

    • YO! I just thought of something. What the heck do the Triceratons need the Black Hole Generator for if they have planet busting meteor missiles? Did they even think that through? Like, they're going through so much trouble and are having a large portion of their fleet killed to retrieve something they don't even need. Man, the Triceratons are dumber than I thought.
