Plot[]

On a beach in Brazil, Man Ray, Jagwar and Dreadmon witnessed a crashed meteor open with many large caterpillar-like insectoids crawling out of it.

Meanwhile, in Dimension X, Maligna and her Malignoids had captured Stump and Sling and planned to burn them to death as kindling fuel for their interference back in issue #13: The Final Conflict. Leatherhead arrived to rescue the trees, and with the help of Wingnut, Screwloose and Cudley the Cowlick, they made their escape.

Back at Null's headquarters on Earth, the turtles, April O'Neil, Mondo Gecko and Splinter had been captured by Scul and Bean, who were negotiating a deal of purchasing the Earth from Null to enable a Malignoid invasion as Null's disgraced henchman Kid Terra sat nearby. Splinter advised his companions to stop struggling so he could make a remote psychic link to any allies willing to help.

Back at Stump Asteroid, Stump nonchalantly talked about Maligna's planned invasion of Earth, which Stump saw as a business opportunity to broadcast the invasion live to television audiences for profit. Disgusted by their recent employer's boundless greed and self-centeredness, Leatherhead, Wingnut and Screwloose promptly quit and resolved to return immediately to Earth. Stump smugly reminded them that they have no means to return to Earth, but Cudley immediately volunteered to transport them over Stump's furious objections. En route, Cudley was shot by spaceship crossfire and began plummeting to Earth along with his passengers.

As Ray, Jagwar and Dreadmon observed the insectoids, they were alarmed when the creatures started consuming the nearby rainforest.

At Null's headquarters, Splinter's psychic call brought numerous ordinary rats to his location, where they ate through the restraints of himself and his captured companions. As the turtles reclaimed their weapons, Scul and Bean attacked as Null scolded Kid Terra again for leaving their weapons in easy reach. Null, Kid Terra, Scul and Bean boarded a secret alien spaceship which burst out of the skyscraper's highest floors, demolishing their structures in the process. Splinter, April and three of the turtles managed to survive, but Raph and Mondo had snuck aboard the ship as stowaways.

Back in the rainforest, Ray, Jagwar and Dreadmon resolved to lure the insectoids away from the trees up onto a barren hilltop, where they happened to encounter an injured crashed Cudley amidst some cattle.
