Synopsis[]
Casey's no-good cousin Sid (from Tales of the TMNT Volume One #1) has joined the Foot Clan as a lowly initiate. In order to advance his standing, the former thug leads Karai to the Jones family farmhouse in Northampton, Massachusetts to ruin Casey and April's engagement party. The ninjas plan to steal the ring in Casey's possession because Sid believes it to be the magical talisman that Karai is seeking.
Casey's no-good cousin, Sid Jones in the Foot Headquarters, revealing that he has joined the Foot Clan. However, Sid has been disrespectfully mistreated as he begins bad-mouthing the Clan. Two members have heard it and had a hard time with Sid. As they begin to leave, he sees that Karai is planning to steal the ring of Heartstone. Sid members that this is the same ring his grandmother used to wear. Sid then tells them everything and they've decided to head to there...
In the lair, Casey prepares for his engagement party with April, but is in a nervous wreck, suffering from an anxiety of proposing April. However, after some encouragement from the turtles, Casey agrees. The turtles, Casey and April arrive in Northampton, where they have a picnic, unknown to them they've been secretly spied by The Foot. As Casey begins to grow more nervous, the Turtles give him to suit and Casey walks over to April. Dropping to knees, opening a ring, Casey proposes to April, who ecstatically accepts.
Just as the engagement party comes to an end, The Foot arrives and confronts them. Casey becomes both shocked and furious that his cousin has joined the Foot. The thug demands the ring, which Casey refuses, saying that he uses the ring to propose April. The turtles are mad at Karai for breaking their truce (See City at War, part 12 of 13), but when Sid stole the ring, it's not a Heartstone, it's an ordinary ring.
Furious, Karai scolds Sid for mistaking it and orders Foot Mystics to torture Sid with their magic powers as a punishment, but they're unwilling to kill Sid so they placed him in the dungeon, so he can rot in there for the rest of his life, much to Sid's disappointment.
