Summary[]
Splinter sits to one side in the lair while Michaelangelo juggles pizzas atop sticks before tossing them to the other Turtles. Splinter calls their attention to the fact that they are about to have company. Dozens of rats swarm into the lair and Splinter says they are new friends who are possibly looking for a home. Donatello offers them a slice of pizza, but the rats turn their noses up at the food, which causes the Turtles to become concerned.
Leonardo picks up one of the rats and discovers that it is mechanical. He quickly tosses it into the air just before it explodes. Another explodes beneath a chair and Donatello tells the others that they are walking timebombs. Leonardo is sure that it is the work of the Shredder. Standing near an open manhole above ground, Shredder holds the remote that causes a radio-controlled explosion every seven seconds. He is certain that Krang will be proud of him this time.
As rats continue to explode, Leonardo tells the others that it’s rat bashing time. The Turtles and Splinter begin destroying the fake rats before they can explode. Donatello follows one to the sewer access and bats it back up through the manhole. It explodes right in front of Shredder. Using his comlink, Shredder tells Krang that it is a temporary set-back and that he’s not beaten yet. Krang shouts at him to stop wasting time while he comes up with a plan of his own.
Three days go by. In the sewers, the Turtles gather around their television to watch the Channel 6 holiday round-up with April O'Neil. The broadcast begins with April reporting on the city’s annual summer fête, a fancy-dress affair, to be held next week. This year’s special attraction is to be a professional pizza-throwing contest. She reports that several contestants will be competing for a new world-record. This angers the Turtles, who agree that pizzas are made to be eaten, not thrown. Donatello asks what they’re going to do about it and Raphael says they should stage a protest.
As the fête begins, the Turtles make their appearance, all double disguised as Turtles. They march forward, carrying banners, and are spotted by April as they approach the competitor's area. Their banners read “Ban Pizza-Throwing Now!”, “Pizzas Are Chomped, Not Chucked!”, and “Pizza Parlour Lovers Say… No Contest!”. April guesses that public opinion is about to stop the world record attempt, but one of the competitors shouts that they’ve waited a long time for a chance like this.
Competitors wearing gorilla costumes come pouring out of the competitor’s tent, each carrying a pizza. The leader says they will see if the protesters are who he thinks they are. Pizzas go whizzing through the air straight at the Turtles, slicing through their banners and one pizza taking the top off of Michaelangelo’s costume. Donatello picks up one of the pizzas and discovers it’s a fake. He protests that’s cheating and Michaelangelo says the guys that threw them are the biggest cheats. The Turtles toss aside their fake turtle heads as the Shredder and his Footbots remove their gorilla disguises. Shredder announces that Krang’s plan was to lure them up out of the sewers with the fake contest and they’ve now fallen into the trap. He and the Footbots throw more fake pizzas at them, but the Turtles chop them in half with their hands.
Michaelangelo says that it’s time they hit back and he throws the broken wooden staff from his banner. It hits Shredder right in the head, knocking him back against the Footbots. Leonardo orders the Turtles forward and they attack the Footbots, destroying all of them.
Soon the police arrive. A fête organizer directs them to Shredder, telling them that the guy in the cloak and his robots have ruined the city fair. Another person says that the guys dressed as Turtles were the heroes. Michaelangelo tells the other three Turtles that it’s time to haul shell. Donatello enters the competitor’s tent and says there’s one thing he has to do first. Shredder’s comlink is on the ground inside. Krang is onscreen, shouting for Shredder and wanting to know if his brilliant plan succeeded. He asks if the Turtles have been crushed underfoot. Donatello answers with a no and stomps on the comlink.
