[Opening sequence and theme song.]
Acropolis Tour Guide "The Acropolis contains some of the most beautiful temples and sculptures in Greece. These statues are examples of the classical Greek ideal of beauty."
[Standing atop columns are the four Turtles, all posing like statues.]
Michelangelo "Whoa, thanks for the compliment, dude."
Raphael "I knew we were classics, but I never knew we were beautiful."
Tour Guide "The statues are alive!"
[He and the tourists all scream and run.]
Leonardo "Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to pretend to be statues. We didn't want to scare anybody."
Donatello "Look, some tourists just have no sense of humor."
Splinter "And some tourists have no appreciation for ruins of ancient Greece."
Donatello "Uh, whoops. Uh, sorry, Master."
Splinter "Perhaps you should remain here, my Turtles, until you have learned to see beauty in these ancient ruins. I will wait for you in the Turtle Van."
Raphael "All these ruins are ruining my vacation. I wanna have some fun!
Aah!"
[Suddenly, one of the large stones opens beneath his feet and he falls.]
Aah!"
Leonardo "Raphael! Are you okay?"
Raphael "Yeah, but watch that first step. [
Hey, guys. Get a load of this."
[He looks around.]
Hey, guys. Get a load of this."
[The other Turtles lower themselves on ropes into an underground city.]
Donatello "Ugh, why couldn't Raphael fall down a hole with an elevator?"
Michelangelo "Outrageous pad, dude. This would make a great sewer, if it had running water."
Raphael "Hey, guys. Look what I found."
Leonardo "This statue looks exactly like April."
Michelangelo "Radical resemblance, for sure. Hey, there's something written on the base. Uh, what's it say, Raphael?"
Donatello "Wait, let me see that. Greek was the first language of science. It says "This is a statue of the queen of Atlantis." Absolutely uncanny."
Raphael "There'll be no living with April once she hears about this."
[Cut to April, Irma, and Vernon strolling through an outdoor market.]
Irma Langenstein "Isn't shopping just about the funnest thing a person can do, April?"
April O'Neil "You can say that again, Irma, especially an old flea market like this one."
Vernon Fenwick "Please! I've heard of itching to go shopping, but this is ridiculous."
Irma "Poor Vernon. Men will never know the joy of bargain hunting."
April "Yeah, like spending hours choosing a necklace."
Merchant "Ah, did the pretty lady say necklace? I have exactly what you are seeking. Come this way."
[The two women enter his shop.]
Irma "Wow, there's something pretty bizarre about this bazaar."
April "Irma, I have the strangest feeling I'll find something special in this place."
[The man opens a box and draws out an ornate necklace.]
Merchant "This necklace was made for you."
Irma "Oh, April! It's gorgeous."
[The man places the necklace around April’s neck.]
Merchant "No man could resist a woman wearing a necklace like this."
April "It is beautiful, but I could never afford anything like this."
Merchant "It is yours, free."
April "Free? How do you stay in business with prices like that?"
Merchant "Heh. Volume."
Irma "I heard you could get some great bargains here, but this is incredible!"
[The necklace suddenly glows and April’s entire demeanor and voice change.]
April "I grow weary of shopping. Let us depart."
Irma "Huh? Uh, b-but April."
April "There's nothing to discuss. Come along, Irma."
[After they depart, the merchant places a tablet on the counter and communicates to the man who appears on the other end.]
Merchant "Oh! Our queen has returned to us. I placed the sacred medallion of power around her neck with my own hands."
Atlantean High Priest "You have done well. Soon the memory of who she once was will return to her. With our queen to lead us, the Atlanteans will once again rule the world."
[Shift to the Technodrome on the Volcanic Asteroid in Dimension X.]
Krang "My long-range scanners have located a powerful energy disturbance on Earth. It's somewhere in Athens, Greece."
Shredder "The power source is astounding. These readings go off the scale."
Krang "Isn't that wonderful? With that much energy under my control, I could transport the Technodrome to Earth, and have enough left over to conquer the world. It's like getting two-- two for the price of one."
Rocksteady "Gee, just like a breath mint."
Bebop "No, it's a candy mint."
Rocksteady "It's a breath mint."
Bebop "A candy mint!"
Shredder "Will you two stop that?"
Krang "You will leave for Athens immediately. Find the energy source and steal it."
[Back at the outdoor market…]
Irma "Vernon, look at the necklace April got. Isn't it stunning?"
Vernon "Hm, I suppose so, if you like cheap costume jewelry. Now, can we please get out of here? My feet are killing me."
April "You may return to the hotel. Now, leave us. Be gone."
Vernon "Be gone? Who made you queen of the world?"
[He walks away.]
Irma "You were kind of rough on Vernon, even if he did deserve it. A-Are you okay?"
[April touches a hand to her head.]
April "Actually, I'm feeling kind of weird."
Leonardo "Psst, April. It's us!"
April "Turtles! What are you doing here?"
Leonardo "We found this statue that looks exactly like you."
Donatello "And it was wearing a medallion just like this one."
April "There's something strange going on."
[They are interrupted by the noise from a portal.]
Leonardo "What's that sound?"
[Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady, and several Rock Soldiers step through the portal.]
Raphael "It's Shredder and his goons."
Rocksteady "Ooh, lookie, boss. It's that reporter dame."
Shredder "The energy readings are coming from her necklace. Bring her to me!"
Bebop "Heh, it'll be like taking candy from a baby."
Rocksteady "Yeah, and we done that lots of times."
Leonardo "You'll have to get through us first!"
Shredder "That's exactly what I intend to do, Turtles! Rock Soldiers, attack."
