The First Battle is a storybook by Crystal D. Herman and Larry Daste, published in 1990 by Random House. It was also accompanied by an audiocassette.[1][2] The story retells the beginning of the 1990 film, with the art style of the 1987 cartoon. Just like in the cartoon, April O'Neil works for Channel 6 instead of Channel 3 like in the original movies.
Plot[]
As a reporter, April O'Neil reports about a criminal organization, and is rescued by the turtles.

The book was translated from English into Swedish. Retitled "Den första striden" ("The First Battle"), it was published in 1990 by Winther.[3][4]
