Trivia[]

  • This issue is famous to Mutant Ninja Turtles Gaiden fans for using a plot element that appeared in MNT Gaiden Chapter 18: A Little Deeper in Donatello's World published in 2007, four years before Mirage Vol.4 #32 was penciled and seven years before it was finally published on Peter Laird's TMNT blog. In the MNT Gaiden storyline, Donatello Hamato is revealed to have secretly cloned his dead father Splinter, and keeps the failed clone's skeleton in a giant tube in his secret cloning lab that not even the other turtles know about. But whereas Mirage Donatello made his Splinter clone to research a technique to cure Raphael's recent secondary mutation, MNT Gaiden Donatello has become a mentally ill mad scientist who has lost touch with reality and desperately wants to make a healthy viable flesh-and-blood clone of his father.
