Synopsis[]
Burnow Island. Ch'rell desperately searches for Ma'riell and Seri. Finally having reached the full 18 year stint in the maturation pod, a disoriented Seri exits as Ma'riell gives her instruction to flee the island and find some friends to help her. Ch'rell finally catches up to them and spots them when Seri drops the navigation disk Ma'riell had given her.
Back in Mutant Town, Alopex continues to struggle against D.B., and a new wrinkle appears in the form of Ziggy. Al tries calling Donatello on her cell phone, but he doesn't answer. Ziggy begins generating electricity with the bolts on his head and neck, and uses it to zap Al, knocking her unconscious.
Elsewhere in Dr. Barlow's clinic, Don is flabbergasted at the limbless, apparently mutant turtle before him, Venus. Barlow explains that she was found wounded and dying in an alleyway and that he has been reconstructing her, using the Dragon's scale to aid in mending her grafts. Barlow also says that she suffers from delirium and escaped at least once, but his staff returned her. Don protests that he can't keep her there if she didn't want to be there, and suddenly noticed a from arm hanging from the ceiling. Barlow says it was one of her original limbs, and Don realizes that she is actually the missing Punk Frog, Bonnie, who Don had been accused of abducting.
Don talks to Bonnie/Venus, who can't speak due to damaged vocal cords, but she is able to reach out to him telepathically. Her memories are distorted due to her injuries and surgeries, but she shows Don flashes of her life, confirming her identity. Don insists that Barlow release her, but he injects him with carfentanil and midazolam, causing him to black out.
Don wakes up strapped to one of Barlow's surgical tables, next to Al and Sheena. He tells them to wake up, but then he suddenly receives a telepathic communication from Venus. He introduces himself, and she tells him that she was being turned into turtle as part of a doppelganger commission program, but Barlow deemed her a "failure" and had kept her around to experiment on. Al finally awakens and tells him about a bunch of "messed-up turtle mutants" she saw before she was attacked. Barlow walks in and Don insists that as a doctor and a scientist, he's breaching ethics. Barlow doesn't care, saying that there are no ethics in Mutant Town. D.B. and Ziggy arrive with another Dragon scale, hooking Don up to it, and extreme pain courses through his body as the energy flows through him.
Venus tells Don to not let the pain overpower him, and to move through it, not to fight it. The Dragon's power is a key to a "doorway" that was always there. Don and Venus suddenly arrive on the Astral Plane. Don shifts to his original human boy incarnation and explains a bit of his history to Venus, and while walking around, eventually encounters Hamato Yoshi. Yoshi embraces his son as the latter cries.
Back as his turtle form, Don tries to grasp if this is all real, or a hallucination; if the Astral Plane is just showing him what he wants to see. Venus says it's all real and to remember that the Dragon's power is just a key.
Back on Burnow, a laser from one of Ch'rell's troupes wings the top of Seri's head, and Ch'rell himself catches his sister. Seri makes it into an escape pod, but Ch'rell threatens to crush Ma'riell if she leaves. Ma'riell insists that she take off, saying that he won't kill her, despite the intense grip he has on her. Seri blasts off, vowing to avenge her mother, as the navigation disk locks in on Manhattan.
