Gameplay[]
The gameplay is very similar to the arcade games of the Konami era, in which the Turtles are controlled by an 8-way joystick and jump and attack buttons. A key addition to this game is Turtle Power. The meter fills up as the Turtles defeat enemies. Once it's full, the player can press the Turtle Power button to unleash a special attack that instantly defeats most enemies and does significant damage to boss enemies.

Trivia[]
- With the arcade game being ported to consoles, several of the show's voice cast returned to reprise their roles with new material for the expansion. The following exceptions are listed below:
- Arif Kinchen takes over for J.B. Smoove as Bebop
- Fred Tatasciore once again takes over for Clancy Brown as Chris Bradford since the 2013 video game.
- Due to Gilbert Gottfried's passing in April 2022, dialogue from the original game were reused for Kraang Subprime.
- Chrome Dome's in game model is actually that of the Elite Footbots. His cartoon model can be seen in the credits.
- In the home version Krang's name is spelled Kraang in game and in the credits despite being spelled Krang in his introduction. Reversely Kraang Subprime is misspelled Krang Subprime in the credits.
