Summary[]
One stormy night, the Turtles are indoors watching their favorite educational show… an all-night Rambo marathon on television. A lightning bolt strikes their antenna and knocks out the TV reception. Donatello keeps clicking the remote in the hopes of finding something on the TV while musing that it’s time to get cable.
Michaelangelo is sprawled on the couch, an open Viking Heroes comic book in his hand and other comics all around him. He tells Donatello to improve his vocabulary with some reading and that he’d be surprised how that form of entertainment can stimulate the mind. The other Turtles decide to go out for some pizza, but Michaelangelo chooses to stay at home, saying he’s tired and engrossed in his reading.
After the others are gone, Michaelangelo continues to read, thinking to himself that it must have been great to live back in the eleventh century. He yawns and his eyelids grow heavy as a yellow halo of light shines behind him. Michaelangelo dozes off and begins dreaming of a Viking sailing ship out in the ocean.
As Michaelangelo comes up on deck, the wizard Jon greets him, glad that he’s arrived. Michaelangelo asks what the problem is, and Erik tells him that Tomgar drank too much mead and is quite ill. The result is that without Tomgar’s combat expertise, the Troll will have run of their ship.
A large, hairy, pink troll punches Tomgar and sends him flying. Jon and Erik quickly provide Michaelangelo with armor, a shield and a sword before sending him out to face the Troll. Michaelangelo attacks, but the Troll avoids the slash of his sword and then pummels the Turtle before punching him. Michaelangelo crashes into the side of the ship and as he dangles there, he realizes that his Viking friends are battling the Troll all wrong. First thing he needs to do is lose the heavy metal, so he tosses the armor and shield into the ocean. It is time to get back to basics, so he arms himself with his nunchaku.
Once more, Michaelangelo faces off against the Troll. This time though, Michaelangelo is spinning his nunchuck. He performs a few fancy maneuvers with the weapon and then begins spinning it again as the Troll rushes at him. Michaelangelo stands ready, murmuring for the Troll to bring his kneecap a little closer.
As soon as the Troll is within range, Michaelangelo pops his kneecap with his nunchuck and then brings it up to strike the Trolls head. This sends the Troll soaring up over the masthead and into the ocean. Erik compliments Michaelangelo and Jon asks how they can ever thank him. All Michaelangelo wants is to know how to get home. Jon tells him that’s simple; all he needs to do is click his nunchucks three times and repeat “there’s no place like home”. Michaelangelo does this and there’s a bright flash of yellow light that lifts him into the air.
Michaelangelo wakes on the floor of his home, happy that he made it back. To him, the dream was so real that it was frightening. He vows never to read a comic before bedtime again and uses the remote to turn the TV on. Michaelangelo decides to play it safe and watch a movie on the “Late Show”, because what sort of dream could a movie possibly induce?
Standing behind him is Freddy Krueger, with his bladed leather glove.
