Summary[]
One day, while flying over the city in their Turtle Blimp, the Turtles spot a woman in distress who is calling for help from the rooftop of the Bump Building. What they don’t know is that it’s actually Rocksteady wearing a dress and wig. Hiding nearby, the Shredder tells Rocksteady to keep acting because he needs the Turtles to come in close. As Rocksteady follows his orders, Shredder kneels next to a box filled with dynamite and tosses a lit stick inside.
Shouting that it’s time to leave, Shredder makes a run for it, with Rocksteady close behind. The pair escape on hang gliders while the Turtles, realizing they’ve fallen for a trick, try to steer the Blimp away. Unfortunately, the resulting explosion shakes the Blimp hard enough to cause a door to open on the gondola, and Michaelangelo falls out.
Fortunately, Mikey’s fall is broken when he lands on top of Rocksteady’s glider. Shredder vows to get ride of Mikey when he sees his predicament, but Rocksteady has a hard time steering the glider and nearly rams into a skyscraper. Taking out a machine gun, Shredder opens fire, not caring whether he hits Rocksteady in the process.
Fearing for his own safety, Rocksteady throws his purse at Mikey in an attempt to shake him loose. The purse misses the Turtle and strikes Shredder right in the face, which causes him to spiral out of control. He crashes into Rocksteady and all three plummet into the river below. Powerful currents then drag them out to sea. The other Turtles manage to track them and see their predicament. They swoop down in the Turtle Blimp and pick up not only Mikey, but the two villains as well.
Afterwards, both Shredder and Rocksteady are forced to work on rebuilding the rooftop of the Bump Building. To make certain they finish the job, angry residents keep watch over them.
Notes and errors[]
- The cover of this poster mag is actually page 1 of the comic.
- Each page includes edge guide arrows indicating which direction to open the magazine in order to read the next page. It eventually opens out into one very huge poster of April O'Neil.
- The unknown writer of this story gave the Turtle Blimp a spacious gondola rather than the appropriate glider attachment.
