Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles Introduction, Strips 1-79[]

(April 30-July 28, 1990)

In the first eight strips, April O'Neil reports on the origin of the Hero Turtles. Strip number nine begins their first adventure.

Suffering weight gains from eating too much pizza, the Turtles resolve to get in better shape. Through his secret sewer spy-cams, Shredder plans to counter their efforts through better physical discipline of his own henchmen inside the Technodrome, plotting toward a massive gold bullion robbery. Krang orders Shredder to send the giant robotic fish Supercod to capture Splinter and distract the Turtles from their ultimate plan. Baxter Stockman lures the Turtles into an ambush at a city warehouse, but the Turtles overcome the punks with help from April.

April is fired from her job at Channel Six News due to interrupting a broadcast with a newsflash to help Splinter, but the Turtles blackmail Burne Thompson into re-hiring April by threating to tell his wife about his girlfriend. Shredder attempts to rob the First National Bank of one billion dollars worth of gold bullion by seizing the bank's security truck with his Pincher airship, but thanks to Splinter's clairvoyance, the Turtles ambush the villains, forcing Krang to recall all his forces back to Dimension X.

Mad Cow Denise, Strips 80-157[]

(July 30-October 27, 1990)

The Turtles respond to the siren call of Denise, a anthropomorphic cow, who lures them to Dimension X. They do not realize she is operating under the instructions of Krang. Denise abandons the Turtles in the Land of Stone, leaving them to the Stone Warriors.

The No-Joke Affair, Strips 158-235[]

(October 29, 1990-January 28, 1991)

Shredder teams up with crime boss Art E. Choke to destroy the Turtles. Choke employs Rudolph McLizard and the Lizard Gang to aid in the war against the green heroes.

Holiday in Florida!, Strips 236-313[]

(January 29-April 29, 1991)

The Hero Turtles crack down on the city's crimewave by thwarting the mugging and robbery attempts of Shredder's punks, motivating an annoyed Krang to fire Shredder and promote Rocksteady as his new right-hand mutant. Resolving to destroy the Turtles in one week, Krang sends April an anonymous letter telling the Turtles they have earned a free vacation in Florida courtesy of a appreciative benefactor, secretly plotting to trap them and destroy them with mutagen. With Splinter's permission, the Turtles fly the Turtle Blimp to Miami Beach while Rocksteady and Bebop drive down in a pickup truck transporting Krang's mutagen canister. The Turtles hail a taxi cab to the Hotel Splendide, but discover it to be ramshackle swamp house, rather than the private luxurious beach-front accommodation they expected. Rocksteady and Bebop lure the Turtles into the swamp, and they promptly mutate four frogs, who the Turtles initially mistake for the Punk Frogs, allowing the new mutants to disarm them of their weapons. The real Punk Frogs arrive on their airboat, and they help the Turtles defeat the giant frogs. After Rocksteady and Bebop retreat, Krang summons Positive and Negative, two giant Stone Warriors from a portal to Dimension X. Positive abducts Michaelangelo, and the Stone Warriors lure the other Turtles back to the Hotel Splendide, threatening to pull apart Michaelangelo. Sensing danger, Splinter asks April to help the Turtles, so she recruits Casey Jones and the two arrive at the hotel in time to prevent a second ambush by Bebop and Rocksteady. Casey frees Michaelangelo by knocking out the Stone Warriors with a baseball, and Donatello covers them in the rest of the mutagen, causing Positive and Negative to mutate into gigantic duplicates of Bebop and Rocksteady, destroying the hotel in the process. After warding off a surprise attack from Shredder and his Footbot Soldiers, a wealthy passerby with poor eyesight is so impressed that April and her friends fought off a gang of muggers that he offers them a free weekend stay at his own luxury hotel.

Untitled, Strips 314-318 (April 30-May 4, 1991)
