Summary[]
A terrible storm has been raging in New York for several days. At Canale 6, Vernon Fenwick jokes about preparing the weather forecast by simply announcing rain. April O'Neil fusses at him about his joke, because the downpour is causing disasters throughout the city. To herself, she wonders how the Turtles are doing, as their underground home is certainly not ideal in this type of weather.
The Turtles are indeed having a problem with rising water in their lair. Leonardo complains that he’d prefer to live dry and Raffaello teases that maybe this time he’ll finally take a bath. Splinter tells Donatello that Leonardo is right and that they had better go buy a pump. Shortly, they have ventured to the surface in their disguises and Leonardo urges them to hurry because he doesn’t want his CD collection to get soaked. The Turtles go to Baxter, a second-hand dealer, where Michelangelo is certain they’ll find a pump. However, Raffaello calls their attention to a cloud that’s doing upwind turns. When they see it stop, Leonardo thinks it’s suspicious and says they need to check it out. He asks where Donatello parked the Tarta-Dirigibile.
They are soon flying over the storm and spot the strange cloud. Leonardo tells Michelangelo to get as close as possible and stay in control. When he says they’ll stay in touch with communicators, Michelangelo asks where they are going and the answer is “taking a stroll in the clouds”. Raffaello, Donatello and Leonardo leap from the dirigibile. Raffaello says they forgot the parachutes, but Leonardo tells him they won’t need them – he hopes.
A second later he lands on the cloud and finds it solid, as he expected. It’s not a cloud, it’s a camouflaged aircraft. Raffaello locates a hatch and Donatello proceeds to pry it open with his bō. The Turtles cautiously enter the aircraft and then locate the control room, but find no one at the wheel. Leonardo is certain it is causing the storm and Donatello decides to take a look at some of the buttons. He presses some and then Michelangelo calls on the communicator to say that whatever they did worked. The good news is it’s not raining anymore, but the bad news is they are on an Clan del Piede airlines flight.
Meanwhile, in another area of the aircraft, Bebop and Rocksteady have been getting a snack. Rocksteady says it’s time to get back to the controls and when they do, they see the Turtles. Bebop activates the Automi Anti-Intrusi robots. Raffaello easily destroys one and asks if Donatello doesn’t want to play. As Donatello messes with the controls, he says no and that the robot’s are too strong for them. He yells for the others to retreat. Leonardo can’t believe they are running because they could have defeated the robots. In response, Donatello says to get moving because they are going to miss the bus. When they reach the top of the aircraft, they see Michelangelo coming to pick them up. Once they are back aboard the Tarta-Dirigibile, Donatello explains that he had a little fun with the autopilot on the aircraft. He’s got Bebop and Rocksteady heading to an area he would prefer to avoid.
On the aircraft, the two mutants are gloating that this time they won. Suddenly, they receive a radio call hailing their aircraft. They are flying over a prohibited military area and must identify themselves immediately, or they will be shot down. Bebop asks if they should identify themselves but Rocksteady thinks that would get them shot down even faster. The pair grab their parachutes as a missile comes soaring towards the aircraft. Their aircraft is destroyed and the two mutants go soaring. With the sun shining again, everyone in the city is happy… almost everyone. Since they forgot to buy the pump, Splinter is making the Turtles use buckets to remove the water from the lair.
