Tang Shen was the wife of Hamato Yoshi. A rival of Yoshi's fought him for her affection, but was slain by him. Yoshi, Shen, and their pet rat fled to New York City, but the rival's brother Oroku Saki found them and killed them both, leaving the rat alone to live.
