"Wanted: Bebop & Rocksteady" is the eighteenth episode of the fifth and final season of the 2012 TV series, and is the one-hundred and twenty-second episode overall in the series.
Production-wise, it is the twelfth episode of Season 5, as well as the one-hundred and sixteenth episode overall. It first aired on November 12th, 2017.
Synopsis[]
When 80s Shredder and Krang appear in the 2012 dimension, they employ Bebop and Rocksteady and find their plans are succeeding better than ever. Meanwhile, the Turtles try to adjust to life without serious bad guys.

Plot[]
Part 1[]
In the 1987 TMNT series reality, the 1987 Shredder is fed up with the 1987 Turtles. The 1987 Krang states that they will need to power up the Technodrome in order to conquer the world. Eventually they manage to power it up and open up a portal. Meanwhile, the 1987 Bebop and Rocksteady arrive, lamenting about how their disguises as "little old ladies" were seen through by the 1987 Turtles. They discover that the Technodrome is getting away. The 1987 Shredder orders Krang to slow down as they need those two for this mission. However, it's too late, and the 1987 Bebop and Rocksteady are accidentally left behind. They are also tracked down by the 1987 Turtles, who defeat, beat up, and tie them up (in a comical nonviolent style, akin to how they fought in Seasons 4-6 of the original cartoon). The 1987 Leonardo interrogates them, asking them where did the 1987 Shredder and Krang go.
Meanwhile, the 1987 Technodrome enters the 2012 world version of the TMNT. The 1987 Shredder steps out and feels more solid. He asks Krang as to what happened, only for the alien to snicker that they have entered a parallel dimension 'ripe to conquer' before laughing evilly.
Meanwhile, back at the 2012 Turtles' lair, several weeks have passed since the Turtles' Halloween time-traveling odyssey with their time-traveling ally, Renet against their enemy, Savanti Romero, who plotted to turn all of New York City into a monster-filled dystopia, recruiting mankind's most infamous Universal monsters, while sending them back in time at Ancient Egypt, 1300 Transylvania, during the age of Dracula and 1818 Germany, with Frankenstein's monster. (including Shredder dead, Kavaxas banished, and more.) Now, all of New York City has been at peace for a prolonged while now that the Turtles are feeling bored, dull and expendable.
Mikey is lazily lying down and watching an episode of Space Heroes: The Next Generation (where an evil Captain Ryan and Crankshaw Jr. arrive from a parallel dimension to attack Captain Ryan. After Crankshaw Jr. spazzes out, Captain Ryan smacks him and orders Scronus to beam his and Crankshaw Jr.'s evil counterparts back to their realm, only to get merged into some horrific abomination). Munching on some popcorn while Ice Cream Kitty and Chompy are playing cards, Mikey groans, complaining that they have seen this episode five times already. Raph is training nearby with punching bags, agreeing with Mikey, stating that "this show is way better than the original". Mikey discovers that Ice Cream Kitty has been cheating, much to his dismay.
At his lab, Donnie (who is also bored) tries to entertain himself by working on some new experiment, such as making a toaster that spouts out floating calzones. He doesn't think it's special and thinks about building an evil robot for the Turtles to train on. Throwing away his checklist, Donnie rolls across the room on his rolling chair and starts rummaging around a heap of scrap metal (mostly Kraang droid parts). He wonders if he can make a new gadget or weapon, especially upgrades to the Turtles' armor, weapons and vehicles. Flinging some of it away, Donnie sighs in frustration, as there is nothing new he can create without the presence of an evil villain or warlord. Another calzone pops out then Donnie eats the calzone.
In the dojo, Leo is quietly meditating. He has a brief vision of the universe before it fades away. Leo opens up his eyes, and lays down on the floor, sighing and groaning because of his boredom. Looking at a picture of Master Splinter (who has been gone for so long now that his spirit rarely appears in thoughts and dreams), Leo states that he has been trying his peaceful activities (such as reading magazines, meditating and sparring) for weeks now, but feels that living in a city being at peace is making him feel very bored as well. Leonardo sighs in boredom.
Meanwhile, Bebop and Rocksteady, who fled from the battle against Kavaxas, are at their old hideout. Bebop is cleaning up, while Rocksteady sits on his chair, reading a newspaper. While cleaning up, Bebop trips over, by Rocksteady's underwear. Bebop looks around and sees that their hideout is in a great mess. Annoyed, Bebop walks over to Rocksteady and asks him was he born in a barn saying that he can't just leave the weapons and nasty underwear on the floor, then he notices dirty napkins and horn shavings and asks about this. Rocksteady says that it's not his fault, saying that Bebop was too "picky" with apartment so they stuck in his warehouse. Bebop trips Rocksteady and his chair on the ground, angrily saying that no one wants to rent an apartment to the mutant warthog and rhino, saying that they are broke. Fed up with being broke, Bebop expresses of how much he is tired of eating dead cockroaches and moldy ketchups, exclaiming that they need jobs. Rocksteady gets back up and says that there's a plenty of jobs, since he has newspaper (like telly marketer, file clerk, fry cook, mutant warthog and rhino, receptionist and the others). Bebop then hears what Rocksteady says about being employed by someone, who needs mutant warthog and rhino and says that they found new jobs.
Back in the lair, The Turtles are bummed out, until the explosion was heard in lab and Donnie comes out, frustrated that chemistry is very boring. Leonardo, who is equally bored, decides to have the Turtles go out on patrol to keep their skills sharp (and in hopes of finding something to alleviate their boredom.) Donatello points out that he did detect some weird energy readings in the Lower East Side, so they decide to investigate.
Bebop and Rocksteady arrive at a Greek Restaurant for the job interview, and are surprised to see Shredder and Krang sitting in a booth. They introduce themselves as their dimensional counterparts, and offer to hire them to help repower the Technodrome, but only if they can prove their worth. Unlike their 80s counterparts, Bebop and Rocksteady manage to put up a decent fight against the Shredder, which impresses Krang enough that he decides to hire them.
Elsewhere, the Turtles are on their patrol. Raphael and Michelangelo are coming up empty, while Donatello is detecting interdimensional energy readings, but can't pinpoint the source. Leonardo manages to break up a store holdup, but is ultimately convinced that there's no point in staying hidden because the city just doesn't need them anymore.
80s Shredder and Krang lead Bebop and Rocksteady to the Technodrome. They are impressed with the setup, but confuse Shredder and Krang by asking for the Wi-Fi password, since Wi-Fi hadn't yet been invented in the 80s. Krang presents Bebop and Rocksteady with lots of money, and promises more where that came from. Shredder is convinced something is missing, however, and soon has Bebop and Rocksteady dressed like their 80s counterparts. Suddenly, an interdimensional alarm sounds, and Krang and Shredder discover that the 80s Turtles have used Donatello's Portal Generator to follow them to Earth 7. They give Bebop and Rocksteady their first job: to destroy those meddling turtles.
The 80s Turtles begin their search for Shredder and Krang by considering finding their counterparts from the 2012 World, but soon run into Bebop and Rocksteady. They try to fight, but soon discover that the methods that worked so well against the Bebop and Rocksteady of their dimension are ineffective against this Bebop and Rocksteady, who soon defeat them. Before they can destroy them, however, Raphael reminds them that this is a kid's show (breaking the fourth wall as he often did in his home dimension), and Bebop and Rocksteady agree and take the 80s Turtles back to the Technodrome.
However, 2012's Michelangelo witnessed their kidnapping, and quickly informs the other Turtles. They're doubtful that Michelangelo is telling the truth, given his earlier "crying wolf" tales, but Michelangelo insists that he saw Bebop and Rocksteady driving with the 80s Turtles to Chinatown. Donatello traces the signal there, and Leonardo believes it's coming from underground.
In the Technodrome, Bebop and Rocksteady return with the 80s Turtles, who are placed in a cell with electrical energy bars that zap anyone who touches them. The Turtles are unable to escape, and Bebop and Rocksteady don't fall for 80's Raphael's attempt to taunt them into charging the cage. 80's Leonardo laments that this won't be as easy as it usually is for them.
Outside, the 2012 Turtles find the Technodrome, and infiltrate it through a conveniently placed open door. They find Bebop, Rocksteady, 80's Shredder and Krang, and their 80's counterparts. As they try to sneak into rescue them, 80's Leonardo's excited cheer of "Turtle Power!" blows their cover. The Turtles try to keep them busy while Donatello gets the cage open, but Krang triggers a strange goo that traps the 2012 Turtles. With both sets of Turtles trapped and helpless, it looks like this is the end for them...

- Due to the death of James Avery in 2013, 1987 Shredder is voiced by Kevin Michael Richardson, the same voice actor of 2012 Shredder.
- Leonardo walks into a convenience store looking for criminal activity, while wearing a trench coat and hat, which is a homage to the original 1987 TMNT series.
- In this episode, 1987 Raphael breaks the 4th wall (like he often did frequently) by telling 2012 Bebop & Rocksteady, "You can't kill us! This is a KIDS' show!!"
- Ironically, several characters have been brutally killed off during the course of the series' run, including Master Splinter, the Shredder, and Count Dracula.
- According to the Turtles, Mikey had once claimed he kissed Renet in the Wild West though he insists it did happen.
- This is the first time since Turtles Forever that the phrase “Go Green Machine” was used.
- The jassy music that was played in Ivan Steranko's hideout, when Bebop was cleaning up, is the same music is heard in "The Legend of the Kuro Kabuto", where Anton Zeck enters unseen in Shredder's hideout to steal the Kuro Kabuto.
