This is a question I hope someone positive will answer: what is or would be Venus' purpose in TMNT or in the family? For example Leo's purpose in TMNT is being the leader of the team, as well as the "best ninja" and his purpose in the family is being the responsible older brother who leads and looks after his younger siblings and is willing to do anything to keep them safe. Raph's purpose in TMNT is being the muscle of the team, as well as its rebel and his purpose in the family is being its gaurdian and a protective brother showing tough, but caring love. Mikey's purpose in TMNT is being the comic of the team, as well as its optimist and his purpose in the family is being the laid-back younger brother who hardly shows worry and will joke at almost every given turn. Don's purpose in TMNT being the brains of the team, as well as its inventor and his purpose in the family is being its personal "Mr. Fix-it" repairing and bulding things that can be useful to him and his siblings. So I think if Venus has or were to have a purpose I think its this: Venus' purpose in TMNT is the peacekeeper of the team, as well as its best fighter and her purpose in the family is being the caring and sweet sister who is a force to be reckoned with, but prefers peace over violence. What do you think?
Maybe Venus could serve as the moral compass? 184.108.40.206 22:42, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
I agree, I think Venus can definitly tell what is right and what is wrong.
She was probably meant to be what supergirl and batgirl were to their respective series...someone to show the show isn't just for boys, and that girls can be super, too. PyroGothNerd (talk) 21:06, October 26, 2013 (UTC)
What does Venus represent in terms of traits or characters? For example Leo represents honor, order and loyalty. Raph represents protection, confidence and passion. Mikey represents comedy, joy and youth. Don represents imagination, wisdom and compassion. My guess for Venus is this: Venus represents peace, love and beauty. What do you think?
This topic is about Venus' personality, what we know and like about it, and, if possible, how it can be changed. As it was shown in the Next Mutation, her personality is similar to that of a child, as she was raised in China and therefore has no knowledge of New York or it's cultural aspects. She is also shown to be quite naive about many of the things her brothers know and at times is confused about their activities. When it comes to fighting or sparring Venus becomes more competitive, but is the least competitive against Raph as she defeats him practically all the time. She is, however, quite sporty since she battles with honor and fairness, but only with her family and allies. Her personality is simply this: Venus is childish when having fun and possesses a cute, innocent child-like persona and when fighting her enemies she loses her child-like persona and becomes more serious. She tries to be mature when her brothers act up, but can have a habit of having pointless bickering with rivals like Aska. She cares very deeply for her family and detests the violence and fued within her family. When a "brother fight" starts Venus is the one who ends it. She is also quite stubborn about her brothers helping or saving her as she claims that she does not want to rescued especially to Raph who calls her naïve, Venus dislikes it when her brothers treat her like a delicate flower that needs to be protected. I like her cute and child-like innocence and her naitivity especially when she plays sports. If I were to change her personality I really wouldn't to be honest because I like her just the way she is, but I think she would be more of a spunky mother figure to her brothers in the 2k3 series and in the movies and unlike most other girls Venus is a bit tomboyish because of how much time she spends with her family as all of them are men, but still possesses girly and somewhat womanly traits. What are your thoughts? Feel free to respond.

This topic is about other ideas for Venus' origin or role in TMNT, IF and only if she was not a part of the Turtles team in the first place. For instance an artist on deviantart had come up with an origin for Venus as an anti-hero who fights with or alongside the turtles depending on her goal, another made her as a deadly assassin or villain who was taken and works for one of the turtles most difficult enemies like Bishop(think Karai working for the Shredder), others made her as a mutated creation of a powerful villain, like Dr. Stockman, raised and trained to kill her enemies and is partnered up with Slash, and others insist on keeping her as the turtles long lost sister who the turtles try to rescue. Also, just like how it was originally intended in the Next Mutation, if the turtles were not blood related Venus would become one of the guys' love interest and start a relationship one of them mainly because she is a female mutant turtle. Others decide to make her as a mystic warrior who allies with the turtles from time to time, another made her as a mutated creation made from the turtles' DNA which aged into a child and the turtles found her and took her in to raise her as their little sister, others suggest that she was a human girl mutated into a turtle and sought revenge against those who made her this way, another suggested that Venus is part of her own team; an all female mutant turtle team who like the female counterparts of the guys, Venus being Leo's counterpart and others suggest that she can be a ninja warrior from the same world as Miyamoto Usagi, not as a mutant, but as natural born anthropomorphic girl turtle who becomes fast friends with the turtles when they enter the Battle Nexus. Of course many fans insist to make Venus as the Turtles only sister who has been with her brothers since they were born and mutated and were also found and raised by Master Splinter when they were babies and all five were trained by him in the art of ninjutsu, while the boys were named after the Renaissance artisans, she was named after an ancient Greek statue to symbolize Venus' beauty, like her brothers she was given her own signature weapons, in my case a pair of tessens and all the events and battles the turtles were in she was in as well. If you have an idea for her origin then please share, if not then forever hold your peace...er, or piece.
MDelgado101492 14:03, January 17, 2012 (UTC)
My take on her origin was that she was the Turtles' sister, but she was traumatized by her mutation and fled to the surface, where Miyamoto Usagi, who had fallen into our world weeks prior to the Turtles' mutation, found her and raised her. Eventually, she was reunited with her brothers on the thirteenth anniversary of their mutation during their first encounter with Shredder.
Here in this topic it discusses Venus' true potential in TMNT if she was still with the turtles. Many fans have been disappointed that she was apparently scrapped from the franchise, but I am not going to repeat the same thing twice since every fan already knows about her. Venus de Milo has so much potential to be a great TMNT character as many great things can be done with her that was already done with her brothers. Granted the only show she appeared in was not all that good by some fans, but it was not her fault, her portrayal in the show was a little messed up, like most other characters. For instance: they made Venus as a Shinobi, which in this rendition was a mystic shaman specializing in almost all fields of magic and chi energy, which was a major controversy by fans since the word "shinobi" is the original name for "ninja". She also made many mistakes when she is with the turtles like when she fails to do her spells correctly and when she says many incorrect comments and wits, having the guys correct her almost always. It should also be noted that they also made the turtles not blood related specifically to have Venus start a relationship with one of them which was possibly the reason why the guys were all attracted to her when they first met esspecially Mikey who flirts with her throughout the course of the series and Venus admits that she loves her family, more specifically her brothers. The Next Mutation takes place about 3 years after the initial date of TMNT which explains why Leo, Raph, Don, Mikey and Venus are all 18 years of age. And because she was raised by a Chinese shaman in Shanghai, China, Venus possesses a Chinese accent. She had no primary weapon of her own except for these metal spheres called "kai mi" which she uses for throwing and distractions similar to shurikens. A few fans thought that Venus was something of a burden to the turtles who had changed their story completely and caused the show's cancelation, this however is not true since she had nothing to do with it and Eastman co-created her and intended on adding her to the group permanently, but Laird outspokenly said otherwise. Venus was never a burden to anyone and deserves a second chance. She has true potential to be a part of TMNT and, hey c'mon, you got to admit the turtles need a girl in their team and I don't mean a human girl like April, no, they need a female mutant turtle like the one and only Venus de Milo. She has potential, thats all I have to say at this point, I hope you all agree and thank you for your time.

I am not afraid to say that Venus is my favorite turtle when asked. I dont remember the show much from when i was little, and never got to see the series again while growing up. But I remember I was really fond of her, and intend to stay faithful to her as a fan.

I HATE VENUS DE MILO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dead Ninja (talk) 00:29, December 15, 2012 (UTC)
Not everybody hates Venus, bucko. I happen to be one of those fans. Is it really necessary to point out the obvious, since most fans hate her anyway? This talk page is only for discussing problems with the article and the possibilities of reworking her into a better character if she were to return. No wonder they call you Dead Ninja, 'cause you are dead to me.
The 2014 film isn't cancelled.SonofSamhain (talk)
` Oh look. You've just run out the world's supply of exclamation points. Thanks. The S (talk) 14:25, December 15, 2012 (UTC)
For those who do not have anything nice or supportive to say for Venus, then please do not leave a comment here again, especially you "Dead Ninja". This is page is for what exactly "SonofSamhain" said. MDelgado101492 (talk) 01:56, December 22, 2012 (UTC)
What precisely is going on here? The S (talk) 03:09, December 22, 2012 (UTC)
It is just Dead Ninja being a jerk by loudly expressing how much he hates Venus. He hates Venus, but apparently he refuses to acknowledge that on this wiki, we accept that not all Turtle fans have the same opinions. He even vandalized this actual article, The S! By messing with the gallery and giving one of the pictures a description that read "I am a stupid character"! Thankfully, that edit is undone. He also removed his I HATE VENUS DE MILO!!!!!!! section twice. I undid it both times and warned him not to do it again the second time, since we do not remove talk page entries!SonofSamhain (talk) 07:52, December 22, 2012 (UTC)
In terms of special or super powers and skills, what kind of abilities would Venus possess? This also pertains to the anitmated series like the 2k3 series and the video game series. Since half of Venus' physical abilities are shared with the other turtles for me, I think her abilities in the animated series would be greater running speed; being more lean and lightweight compared to her brothers, great aim when using shuriken and kunai, intelligence/eavesdropping skill, tessenjutsu specialist, hand-to-hand combat master, morality and motherly skills. With special powers in the Ninja Tribunal and the video games, her Ninja Tribunal powers would be energy manipulation, super"turtle" reflexes, steel ring or giant tessen specialist, dragon avatar manifestation, water element manipulation, video game powers such Turtle Gust, Water Spout, Genbu of Water and Ultimate Turtle Transformation. Any other ideas?
This is probably a dumb question, but...
Is the first picture in this article's gallery (the one depicting Venus in the style of the 2007 TMNT film) a legit image or fan art? If it's fan art, I say we remove it from the gallery. I ask because the picture was ignored during past revisions of the article. If it is an official picture, I would like it to have a description explaining where it is from.
That picture is indeed a fan art of Venus would have looked liked if she was in the 2007 film. The username of the artist who made this pic is propimol on deviantart. Hope this helps.
Like all characters in Chinese, there can be several different meanings of a word depending on tone, context, and character. Names are extremely difficult to translate because of the hundreds of different possible translations you could do.
The word "Mei" for example, has over 50 meanings without any combination words, som of them not at all flattering meanings (like 煤 for "coal", or 祙 for "demon"). The ones below are the most pleasing translations...words that people would most likely actually name someone.
Mei is also a common female name in Chinese, though. Typical meanings of the name "Mei" are:
- 媄 or 媺 : Beautiful
- 妹 : Younger Sister (most likely meaning)
- 沬 : Dawn
Pieh is spelled "bie" in pinyin and most likely means 鳖 for "turtle" as the other words for "bie" are not at all flattering.
Chi is even harder to discern since it could be "Chi," (pronounced like "gee" and spelled "ji") or "Qi" ("q" is pronounced as a "ch" in pinyin). Assuming it's the latter, the phoenetic ("qi"), here are some words it may translate:
- 奇 : strange / odd / weird / wonderful
- 齐 : a surname, meaning "even / to make even"
- 七 : 7 / seven
- 気 : air, gas, steam, vapor, spirit
This is why names are difficult to translate into/from Chinese. This is also how someone could want to get the word "lion", for example, tattooed on their body somewhere, which in Mandarin is "shi." But if they don't do their homework first and research the right character, "shi" could also mean: ten, corpse, anchovy, wipe, wet, raincoat, market, lick, hog, angry, door hinge...etc.
Hey! New to this wiki but not new to the Turtles. Anyway, i think they should bring back Venus. I had this idea in my head for awhile and i think you should hear me out.
If Venus does appear in the 2012 series, she would first appear as a human by the name "Mei Chi".
She will be the same age as the Turtles. She spots dark brown shoulder-height hair with her bangs going to the side and brown eyes. Her father is originated from China but travel to Japan to study Ninjutsu.
Chung I met Hamato Yoshi and became good friends and allies. He becomes aware of darkness inside Saki's heart and tries to warn Yoshi. He later met Mei's mom, got married and Mei was born after Yoshi left for America. When she was born, she has her mother's Japanese looks and her father's Fighting Spirit. She wears a Yin-Yang necklace and forehead protector with Yin-Yang symbol engaved on the metalplate. Chung I trained her in the art of both Kung Fu and Ninjutsu and Tessenjutsu. Like her father, she has the ability to manipulate Chi energy and becomes very skilled.
As a little kid, Mei's mum would have been killed or died by an unknown disease. Later, Chung I becomes very sick and before he dies, he has order Mei to go to New York to find Yoshi and train under his tutelage.
All by herself, Mei made it to New York and comes face-to-face with Karai whom she met before and became bitter rivals in Tokyo. She was then saved by the Turtles who later became friends and allies when they learn she is looking for Yoshi. She then meets April and Yoshi, now Splinter. Stunned by his appearence but accepts it after learning his story.
During her stay with the Turtles, Mei and April end up becoming best friends and Leo and Mei becomes close with each other. While on a mission against the Kraange and the Foot, Mei gets mutated (thanks to Karai) and becomes a mutant turtle. Traumatise by her new form, the Turtles take Mei and retreated by to the Sewers.
After calming down and remembering Splinter's story, Mei decided live with her new form. Later on, during a fight between the Kraang/the Foot, she changes her name to Venus de Milo after they "create" and armless statue.
First, you must leave a signature to let us know who you are, and second, your ideas are very nice and well thought, but some parts are similar to Venus' original origin in The Next Mutation, and a few fans had came up with the very idea of Venus being a human girl mutated into a turtle. It sounds nice, but one or two things could be changed or replaced. I'm definitly not saying that your ideas are not good enough, but it can be improved. Take a small reference from the Ideas section above, remember, every idea is good, we just have to make it work.
Hey MDelgado101492. The name is BlueNinjaX and I was the one who came up with the Origin story for Venus. When I first learned about her origin from NT: TNM, I didn't pretty much get it and it didn't really work it.
I thought Venus could have another chance to appear again in the Ninja Turtles series but with a new character development. But I wouldn't mind some ideas from anyone; as long as it makes sense.BlueNinjaX (talk) 06:25, May 29, 2013 (UTC)
To the haters-You all are so cynical.
Here is question that was asked by a Venus fan on deviantART: "Who would be a love interest to Venus?" Her brothers each have at least one or two love interests; Leo with Karai, Raph with Mona Lisa, Ninjara or Alopex, Don with Jhanna or April, and Mikey with Horridus or Mitsu. The qeustion was considered as a difficult to answer since the TMNT universe does not have many good guys, however a few candidates were named.
The first is Casey Jones. Now they have said Casey because of guys are like around April. In Venus' case, she would have shy girl crush on him very similar to Don's crush on April in TMNT 2013.
The second is Leatherhead. For him, it might not be possible only due to age difference.
The third is Slash. He can be an acception because Venus has a trait to find the good in unlikely people and only saw Slash as fellow mutant turtle in need. Slash, in turn, would see Venus as his only friend he ever had and becomes an ally as well as being very overprotective of her.
The fourth is Traximus. Now Venus would find him to be very handsome, but he would see her as a sister-in-arms which would frustrate her a bit.
The fifth is Miyamoto Usagi. He could be an acception, however he acts as a friendly mentor to the turtles, plus he would remind Venus of her brother Leo.
And the sixth is Mondo Gecko. He is considered as a "bad boy" and Venus could either be attracted to bad boys or just annoyed by them.
These are just likely candidates, if you have other candidates then share.
Considering that a shinobi is the same thing as a ninja, I'd say she's more like a lin kuei (Wikipedia doesn't have a page on them, so I had to use the Mortal Kombat one).Jedi Wolf (talk) 19:02, May 30, 2014 (UTC)
Recently I read an interesting idea for Venus' relations to the turtles; what would happen if Venus was made as the turtles' biological mother? I know its strange, but it sounds pretty interesting conisidering that the most used ideas for her were sister, Mutanimal ally, love interest or leader of her group of mutant ninja turtles.
