In Distractions, Tachi is a samurai and the son of DaimyōOrkai. He is sent to kill the feudal lord Toshiro and kidnap his daughter Tai, so that he can marry her and take over Toshiro's land. He accomplishes his goal of kidnapping Tai, fleeing from a defending Michelangelo in the process, but fails to kill Toshiro. Orkai reschedules the latter task to his Executioner.
Michelangelo storms Orkai's compound and rescues Tai, but runs into Tachi and Orkai again as she's fleeing. Michelangelo beats the Executioner, Orkai's dinosaur thing, and Tachi, and Toshiro arrives to banish the Daimyō and his son from the land. It is subsequently revealed to the reader that this adventure is but a tale written by Michelangelo.
