Surfin turtles

A surfboard is an aquatic solitary vehicle made for use of the sport and travel method of surfing. Although the two differ in many ways, it is often considered the water version of the skateboard.

Despite their proximity to suitable waters, surfboards don't appear in TMNT as often as skateboards, and are mostly relegated to video games and merchandise.

Perhaps the most prominent appearance of surfboards and surfing is in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: The Manhattan Project. When the Turtles witness the abduction of Manhattan on TV while vacationing in Florida, they take to surfboards to head back to New York. Along the way, they come across a Foot-owned submarine, Baron Von Spleen's Battle Barge. They also face off against Foot Soldiers on their own surfboards.

Surfboards are utilized again in the third stage of Turtles in Time, "Sewer Surfin'. The Turtles ride in the expansive sewer waters this time, again fighting surfing Foot Soldiers, as well as Chunky Cheese Pizza Monsters. In the Super NES version, this stage is capped off with a fight against Rat King on the Footski.

The Turtles also use surfboards again on the ocean in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist, making their way to the Ghost pirate ship. Once more, they fight surfing Foot Soldiers, as well as floating Mousers, and dodging flotsam.

2003 video games[]

The flash game Sewer Surf Showdown has Leonardo surfing in the sewers to rescue Splinter. Along the way, he fights Foot Ninja and multiple Razorfists, also on surfboards.
