Splinter is the father figure and martial arts instructor of the Ninja Turtles. Unlike his 1987 TV series and Archie Comics counterparts in which he is based, it is unclear whether he was once the man known as Hamato Yoshi.
History
Beat or Be Eaten
Splinter is captured by the mutant owl Nocturno and tied to a bell, with the intent of eating him. Thankfully, during their fight to save Splinter, his sons knock the owl into a pizza, and Nocturno decides he likes it more than rats.
