Splinter is the Ninja Turtles' sensei in the 1990 Ladies' Home Journal comic Twas the Fight Before Christmas. He is seen in the Turtle Lair with the other turtles (except Raphael) and April O'Neil, decorating their Christmas tree.
At the end of the comic, Splinter dresses as a reindeer and joins the Turtles, who are dressed as Santa-Claus' and April dressed as Mrs. Claus. They are returning all of the stolen gifts they recovered from the Christmas thieves.
