Splinter is the father and sensei of the Ninja Turtles in the movie Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He does not appear in the film except in a brief piece of stylized ukiyo-e artwork showing him fighting Shredder in New York City. However, he is frequently mentioned by Leonardo, who emphasizes that he was taught important techniques by his father, as well as the fact that Splinter is one of only two ninja masters who can perform the sato oshi strike.

At the film's conclusion, Batman states that he believes Splinter would be very proud of the Turtles, and Leonardo states that his father will be angry at them for being away from New York for so long.

  • It is left ambiguous whether this Splinter was originally a human being or an ordinary rat. However, the claw marks on Shredder's face, similar to that of his 1990 movie counterpart and 2003 counterpart, would seem to indicate that Splinter was originally an ordinary rat.
