In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Other Strangeness by Palladium Books, the Sparrow-Eagles are a team of supplemental characters. They are not associated with any particular pre-written role-playing scenario. The tutorials provided in TMNT&OS showcase the Sparrow-Eagles as an example of an originally-designed team of mutant ninja that players could create using the game's character creation system. This not only made the Sparrow-Eagles memorable to the game's learners, but indelibly associated them with TMNT tabletop role-playing.

- Decades after TMNT&OS was published, the 2012 TV series episode "Mazes & Mutants" parodied tabletop role-playing and its associated geek culture in general, with the episode's antagonist Sir Malachi also being a mutant sparrow (though not a ninja).
