Some TMNT stuff really isn't for little kids. |
Something Fishy Goes Down is issue 5 of the TMNT Adventures, and was published in October 1989. It is the first issue telling an original storyline instead of adapting episodes of the 1987-1996 animated series, as well as the first issue written by Dean Clarrain, a.k.a. Stephen Murphy, who became the series' lead writer.

Synopsis
The United States Independence Day approaches, as the Shredder tries to blow up the Statue of Liberty. The turtles are assisted by mutant manta ray Jack Finney, formerly a human working at the Burroughs Aquarium.
