Plot[]
Splinter decides to teach Leonardo the Viper Maneuver, a combat move which there is no defense. However, Leonardo is unable to successfully perform it. Splinter explains that he is unable to perform the Viper until he has face his greatest fear and overcome it. Leonardo denies that he has such a fear, but it is clear from his increasingly peculiar behavior that he is terrified of snakes.
Meanwhile, 600 snakes have been stolen from the city zoo and the Turtles decide to investigate. After tracking a snake that had been employed in the heist of electronic equipment, the missing snakes capture Michelangelo, Donatello and Raphael. Leonardo was unable to help his brothers because of his crippling fear of snakes, instead fainting and later fleeing from the building.
Soon, it is revealed that the thefts were caused by Rudolph Cobrato, a noted herpetologist who wants to raise the Earth's temperature to make it more pleasant for the snakes. He had Pinky McFingers and his gang plant a thermal device in a nearby river, which will produce a tropical climate. Meanwhile, the other three Turtles are working to escape from a large glass cage.
After speaking to Splinter and April, Leonardo becomes determined to confront his fear. He successfully runs through a room filled with snakes, only to be confronted by Cobrato. Cobrato himself has become a snake mutant with the power to control true snakes, the result of his experiments with snake venom. Leonardo is again filled with terror at the sight, but successfully conquers his fear. He employs the Viper Maneuver to knock Cobrato to the floor and ties him up.
However, Cobrato escapes while Leonardo is freeing the other Turtles, only to be knocked into his electronic equipment and electrocuted. The shock transforms him back into a human, much to his dismay, especially since the snakes now turn on him.
At the conclusion, Leonardo reveals that he is no longer afraid of snakes, but he still doesn't like them.

Notes and errors[]
- Final appearance of Pinky McFingers and his goons.
- This is one of the rare times Michelangelo denied pizza, as in the shot when Leonardo suggests he and the others stop for pizza to avoid the snakes, Michelangelo said "Not now, dude.".
- Strictly speaking, Leonardo shouldn't be able to perform the Viper maneuver, since it requires spinal flexibility, and a turtle's spine is fused to its shell.
