Skate, as his name would imply, was a mutant skate. He was to appear in The Mighty Mutanimals (TV pitch), as Man Ray's cousin.[1] Skate would be an anti-hero, operating for the purpose of justice but on the fringes of the law - something that would irritate Man Ray to no end.
Skate also appeared in the pitch for The Selected under the name Rajid.

- As well as describing what sort of mutant he is, Skate's name also refers to the roller skates he wears.
- His name for The Selected, Rajid, is not only a proper name, but also short for rajidae, the biological family name for skates.
