Synopsis[]

Turtle News Tonight. Sitting at a table, with a blanket strung up behind him, Michelangelo poses as a news reporter. A globe attached to a hangs next to him, and Donatello gives the globe a spin. Mikey introduces himself and announces breaking news. He says they’ve got exclusive footage of the evil bad guy Shredder, doing what he does best, getting caught on things. He tells Donnie to roll the tape.

The four Mirage verse Turtles face off with Shredder, who is standing in front of a clothesline full of flapping clothes. He lifts his arm as he threatens the Turtles, but the spikes on his gauntlet catch on a sheet and it comes off the line, landing on his head. Shredder continues to struggle with the sheet, finally tearing an opening for his face so he can continue his threats. The Turtles are unphased by his promises of doom and Donatello slams him over the head with his bō.

Back to Mikey at the news desk, who says that Shredder didn’t see that one coming when he approved that design. He then says up next is a classic of the genre, however, here Shredder’s not caught on something, he gets caught in something. The 1990’s film Shredder hangs precariously from the edge of a rooftop just before Splinter lets go of the lance he’s holding, allowing the villain to fall. Shredder lands in a garbage truck. Casey Jones is standing next to it and pulls the lever to activate the packer panel which crushes Shredder.

Mikey says that some might call that murder, but in the comic book biz, it’s called drama. He then goes to the next reel which Don has cued up. It is the 1987 Turtles, in the Technodrome, facing off with Shredder, Bebop and Rocksteady. The villain asks if the Turtles think they can defeat the might of the Shredder, and Leonardo says they are there to kick some shell. At the news desk, Mikey clutches his head in his hands and mumbles about it being ‘this one’. The Technodrome’s portal window is open, and dinosaurs can be seen flying in the background. Shredder says he’ll get rid of the Turtles by feeding them to the beasts of Dimension Z. Just as Shredder orders his mutants to seize the Turtles, a dino sticks its head into the Technodrome, grabs the man, and eats him. The Turtles, Bebop and Rocksteady stare in stunned surprise.

With his head still down, Mikey states that broadcast standards and practices did not like that one. He then says metal-head deserved it and he thinks Master Splinter would probably say so. However, off-screen, Splinter announces that he would not. Then Mikey says they will go to a simpler time when nothing bad could possibly happen, the 2030s. The Mega Shredder from the 2003 series faces off with Donatello, who is wearing an exo-suit. Ch’rell taunts Don on being the last of his kind. He grabs Don, saying he will now crush him. Don shoots back that Ch’rell always did claim victory before he’d actually won. The whole attack was to get Shredder into position. Behind Don, a chain shoots out from the Tunneler and wraps around Mega Shredder. Don leaps to safety and the Tunneler destroys Shredder completely.

Mikey says that part of him thinks that might have been harsh, but then again, that Shredder did destroy the world and killed him, his brothers, his father and Casey, so – he had it coming. Mikey then holds up a newspaper. On the cover is a picture of Shredder with the headline “Shredder Terrorizes City”. Mikey says that finally, Shredder gets caught… in a Shredder. He asks for a drumroll as Donatello shoves a shredder onto the table. Then Don taps a drumroll on the table as Mikey feeds the newspaper into the shredder. Mikey stands up, salutes and hums a tune as the paper is shredded. Then he says that beautiful moment concludes today’s installment of “Shredder Gets Caught on Things”.
