The Shredder Tengu is a demon and a former antagonist of the Ninja Tribunal. This character was created for the 2003 animated series.

Cartoon Series (2003)

The Tengu named Shredder is the earliest known incarnation of a being by that name. The exact origins of the Shredder Tengu are unknown. The little that is known of him is related to his release in Japan when in 300 AD he suddenly appeared and ravaged the country. His goal was to subjugate the world and to turn it into his own personal empire full of agony and destruction.

When the Shredder Tengu attacks a village in Japan, and seemed almost invincible the Five Dragons, five courageous, legendary warriors are called on by the Emperor to fight eradicate this evil: Kon, Juto, Chikara, Hisomi and Oroku Saki. Equipped from the imperial court with magical armor, they set themselves out to fight the demon. Just before one of the Five Dragons, Oroku Saki, succeeded in striking the final blow, the demon telepathically made a pact with him, to have his soul transferred into Saki in exchange for almost unlimited power. Saki, ambitious as he was, agreed to the offer of the demon; he and the demon let their souls merge, and as such, Saki destroyed nothing but a husk of what was once the Tengu which then dissolved into smoke, and so Saki became the Tengu Shredder, the human incarnation of the monster.
