The Shredder's shrine is a location in Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Description[]
The Shredder's shrine is located in the Hidden City. It is a massive black, stone tower with a gold front gate and a large, spike-lined, stone wall surrounding the entrance. Large rocks mystically levitate around the tower. Somewhere on the lower floors is a detention room full of large, suspended cages.
History[]
The Shredder's shrine debuted in "Insane in the Mama Train". The Foot Clan used Big Mama's train to bring the Kuroi Yōroi to it so they could revive the Shredder, having gathered every armor fragment except for Skully.
The Shredder's shrine reaapeared in "End Game". The Turtles were abducted by Baron Draxum and placed in a cage so they had leverage over Splinter and so they couldn't impede the Foot's plans any further. The Turtles chose, in traditional Hamato fashion, to meditate on a means of escape. After being told the situation by April O'Neil, who had been teleported back to New York by Draxum, Splinter eventually decided, against he fellow Hamato's advice, to travel to the Shredder's shrine and save the Turtles. April assembled the B-Team and together, they entered a portal into the Hidden City. Upon the failure of their meditation, Raphael broke out of his and his brothers' cage and worked their way up to the shrine's top floor to resume their mission to steal the armor. Splinter devised a plane for the B-Team to break into the shrine, but all members excluding April and Splinter were captured by security traps. After climbing many stairs to the top floor, Splinter and April encountered Foot Lieutenant and Foot Brute who attacked them with dozens of Origami Ninja. Splinter easily dispatched the Origami Ninja and the Foot leaders before engaging Draxum in a skirmish. He was able to defeat Draxum, however, Draxum retaliated by threatening to harm the Turtles for information on Skully's location and Splinter gave it to him. Upon the Turtles reuniting with April and Splinter, Draxum added Skully to the armor and it activated. Despite Splinter and Raph's last-ditch efforts to stop him, he donned it, gaining great power. It became apparent to Foot Lieutenant and Foot Brute that something about the resurrection had gone awry as Draxum's will and personality remained present as he traveled to the surface to destroy humanity. The room began to crumble from Draxum's destruction and the Foot escaped through a portal while Splinter and the Mad Dogs were trapped in the collapse. Rubble crushed Splinter's body, wounding him, but he encouraged the Turtles to return to the things that are natural to them and pursue the Foot. April then tended to Splinter's injuries and they teleported to the surface vis Mayhem's teleportation mystic power.
