Shredder's helmet is the most iconic piece of his visage. It was of course, worn by Shredder himself, Oroku Saki, as well as his worm colony clone, and when masquerading as Shredder, Karai.
Variations of the helmet were also worn by the worm colony impostors of Shredder.
History[]
The helmet, also known as a Kabuto, is first seen in The Turtles' Origin is Told. After moving to New York City to take over leadership of the Foot Clan there, Shredder dons the helmet along with the rest of his armor, and seeks out Hamato Yoshi. He kills Tang Shen and then surprises Yoshi, who doesn't know who Saki is because of the helmet covering his face. When the Ninja Turtles reach the age of fifteen, Splinter tells them the story and sends them on their mission to destroy Shredder. Raphael delivers a challenge and Shredder meets the Turtles on a rooftop. During the fight, Donatello destroys the helmet with his bō.
