[Opening sequence and theme song.]
[Episode begins inside the turtles’ lair. The turtles are all seated on the couch as Master Splinter enters the room.]
Michelangelo "Hey, Master Splinter, want to watch “Bad-Tempered Vegetable Zombies from Mars”?"
Splinter "No, thank you, Michelangelo. I have already read the book. But I do want to see April's live news report."
[He switches the channel on the TV.]
Donatello "Sure, Sensei. We've seen that movie six times anyway."
Raphael "True. But you can't see a great classic like that too many times."
Leonardo "Quiet down, guys. Here's April."
April O'Neil "This is April O'Neil for Channel 6 News, reporting live from the first international conference on global warming. I have with me Professor Higgins, an expert on this most serious crisis facing the world. Can you tell us about it, Professor?"
Professor Higgins "Certainly. The Earth's temperature is gradually increasing. If it continues, the world's sea level will rise, and your nice beachfront house will rapidly decline in property value."
April "That does sound serious. What can we do to prevent it, Professor?"
Professor Higgins "I haven't a clue, Miss O'Neil."
April "And now back to our studio."
[There’s sudden static on the television and when it clears, Shredder is on the screen.]
Shredder "Leaders of the world, this is Shredder. If you do not surrender to me—"
[Krang shoves him aside.]
Krang "And to me, Krang the Magnificent."
[Shredder shoves in. Both now appear on the screen.]
Shredder "To both of us, you will face global warming on a scale you have not yet begun to imagine. I will be at the United World Plaza at noon tomorrow to present the terms of your surrender."
[At the “Fort Lauderdale Home For Retired Villains” a group of residents watches his announcement.]
Miyoko Saki "That's Oroku. That's my son. If he's going to conquer the world, I want a piece of it."
Orderly "Have a seat, Grandma. Nobody leaves the Fort Lauderdale Home for Retired Villains."
Miyoko "Well, there's always a first time, punk."
Orderly "Whoa!"
[She grabs his wrist and throws him against a wall. Shredder continues speaking on TV.]
Shredder "Tomorrow I will demonstrate to you just how hot it will get if you defy me. Ha ha ha ha ha ha!"
[Back at the turtles’ lair, Leonardo turns off the TV.]
Leonardo "Fellas, this is serious."
Raphael "You're right. We've already missed half of Bad-Tempered Vegetable Zombies from Mars."
[Inside the Technodrome, in Dimension X, Krang and Shredder plot.]
Krang "This plan of yours had better work, Shredder. Building this solar mirror satellite, putting it in orbit, it takes energy."
Shredder "As soon as the people of Earth surrender, you will have all the energy you need!"
Krang "Yes, well, I've heard that before. The satellite is in position. Deploy the mirror."
Shredder "Mirror deployed. Now open the portal."
Krang "Hold on. I'll give the orders here."
[A portal opens near the satellite. The sun’s rays hit the mirror and then are reflected through the portal.]
Shredder "It's working. The mirror is reflecting the sunlight through the portal."
[On Earth, the wind picks up and then it grows very, very bright.]
Man on Street "Hey, it's getting warm."
[April reports as scenes depicting anything cold melting in the heat.]
April "Without warning, an incredible heat wave has struck the world. Scientists are at a loss to explain this occurrence, and concern mounts as the mountain snow pack is melting by the hour."
[In the lair, Donatello sits in a bucket of ice water while a fan moves air around. He looks at a temperature gauge.]
Donatello "This is amazing. It's almost a hundred degrees down here."
[Michelangelo dumps ice into another bucket and then sits on it.]
Michelangelo "Ah, totally frigidoso."
Leonardo "Let's see what's going on up top."
[He switches on the TV.]
April "And there is apparently no explanation for this unseasonably warm weather. But the threat from arch-villain Shredder has scientists worried. Is this the demonstration he promised?"
[Shredder cuts in again.]
Shredder "That's right, Miss O'Neil. This is it. And it's going to get even hotter. Already, demands on your electrical power supplies have pushed generating plants to the limit, and water supplies are dangerously low. I demand that the world's leaders meet with me in one hour, or the world will face catastrophe."
Leonardo "Come on, fellas. We've gotta stop Shredder."
Michelangelo "Gnarly notion, dude, but, uh, where do we go?"
Donatello "A place where world leaders hang out; the United World Building."
[A portal opens and Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady walk through.]
Shredder "Now to bring the people of Earth to their knees.
I'm glad you're on time. Here are my demands. First, all world governments will surrender to me. Second—"
[World leaders walk up to him, and April stands near with her camera.]
I'm glad you're on time. Here are my demands. First, all world governments will surrender to me. Second—"
Leader "We have met, and we have decided not to give in to your demands, Shredder."
Shredder "You what?"
Miyoko "Oroku, sonny."
Shredder "Mother? W-What--I—"
Miyoko "Are you so busy you can't send your mother a postcard?"
Shredder "This is not the time."
Miyoko "Give me a hug, sonny. Never mind. Even a mother wouldn’t hug you in that outfit."
Bebop "Aw. Ain't that sweet?"
Rocksteady "Yeah. Maybe I ought to send my mother a postcard."
[Shredder turns back to the world leaders.]
Shredder "You will pay for this insolence. Earth will pay."
Miyoko "Come on, sonny. Let's blow this joint."
Shredder "Mother, wait. Y-You can't--Ow!"
[She pulls him back through the portal and Bebop and Rocksteady follow. The turtle van arrives on the scene and April runs over to talk to them through the window.]
April "Hi, guys. You just missed Shredder. He left through a portal. And get this, he had his mother with him."
Raphael "Shredder has a mother?"
Donatello "I just tracked down the source of that heat ray, guys. It's coming from a portal in space."
Raphael "Unless we can get into space, we have no way of shutting it down."
April "I might be able to help you. I've got a friend in the space travel business."
[She enters the van and they drive away. She and the turtles are next seen standing near a space shuttle.]
April "And that's the story, General Yogure. Can you help us?"
General Yogure "Well, Miss O'Neil, I don't ordinarily carry mutant turtles as passengers, but since we're saving the world, and it's for you, sure."
Michelangelo "All right, dudes! It's astro surfing time!"
Splinter "You may need this, my student."
Donatello "An abacus? But, Master Splinter, the shuttle has all kinds of computers."
Splinter "Even the most sophisticated devices may fail, but you can always rely on this. Good luck."
Donatello "Thank you, Sensei."
[They enter the shuttle and the rocket carrying it blasts off.]
General Yogurt "You fellas okay?"
Raphael "I don't know about anyone else, but I'm feeling a little bit spaced out."
[Back at the Technodrome...]
Miyoko "So this is where you live, sonny."
Shredder "How do you like it?"
Miyoko "What a dump."
Krang "Shredder, who is this woman?"
Shredder "Um, my mother."
Miyoko "This needs a woman's touch: curtains on these view screens."
Krang "Don't touch that."
Miyoko "So this is your heat ray. Teach those weasels a lesson; fry 'em! Say, brainy, why don't you show me how to work this stuff later?"
Krang "Hmm, maybe you're not so bad."
Miyoko "I don't care much for your choice in friends, sonny; one all-brain and two no-brains."
[The shuttle approaches the portal.]
Donatello "There it is! That's the portal!"
Leonardo "How are we gonna get past that heat ray?"
General Yogure "I've been watching that thing. Every little while, a beam goes out for a minute or so."
Donatello "They probably have to adjust the mirror to compensate for the Earth's movement."
General Yogure "Right. So that's when I kick this baby into overdrive and scoot her right through that squiggly thing."
Donatello "Wow. That leaves us only a half-second margin of error."
Raphael "And if we miss, fried turtles."
Donatello "I'll get the computer data for you, General."
Michelangelo "Phew, it's gettin' hot."
General Yogure "What's that computer say, son?"
Donatello "Something's wrong. The computer's not responding."
General Yogure "Must be the heat. I guess I'll have to fly this thing in by the seat of my pants."
Donatello "We're directly in the beam!"
Michelangelo "We'll be cooked like pizzas in a flying oven!"
All "Aah! Aah! Aah!"
General Yogure "It's no good, boys. Without computer guidance, I can't see my way to the portal."
Donatello "It's too hot. The computers aren't working."
Leonardo "We'll be burnt to a crisp in a minute.
An abacus?"
[Donatello pulls out the abacus.]
An abacus?"
Donatello "Master Splinter said we might need it. Got it. General, give it full thrust for three-point-seven seconds, and angle right forty-two degrees starting-- now."
[The General activates the thrusters and turns the shuttle.]
General Yogure "We made it, boys."
Raphael "Just in time."
Leonardo "There's the Technodrome."
[The shuttle begins shaking.]
Donatello "What's wrong?"
General Yogure "The landing guidance system. It must have gotten knocked out with all that heat."
Raphael "That's okay. I really didn't want to land anyway."
General Yogure "Oh, we're gonna land, boys. It just may be in several pieces."
[The General sets the shuttle down. It slides and spins on the dirt and finally comes to a stop. Inside the shuttle, everyone has fallen in a pile on the floor.]
Raphael "Good landing, General."
General Yogure "Any landing you can walk away from—"
All "Is a good landing."
General Yogure "Right."
Leonardo "Can you get her flying again, General?"
General Yogure "You boys go take care of this Shredder fella. I'll get this shuttle ready to fly in no time."
Donatello "Great, because that's about how much time we have."
Krang "I've turned up the heat!"
Miyoko "Ha ha ha ha! Good work, Krang. Now those world leaders will be sorry they were rude to my little boy."
Shredder "Mother, I'm Shredder now."
Miyoko "Of course you are, sonny. Turn it up some more. Make real baked Alaska. Ha ha ha ha ha!"
Krang "Now, this is a woman I could get to like, if I liked anyone."
Donatello "We've got to disconnect the antenna that controls that solar mirror."
Leonardo "Krang can repair the antenna. We'll have to put the mirror out of commission, too."
Donatello "Right, but we need to buy some time for Earth. We'll deal with that later. There's the antenna."
Michelangelo "Better start climbing, dudes.
Cowabunga!"
[They toss their turtle lines onto the Technodrome and swing over.]
Cowabunga!"
[Inside, the villains watch the turtles on the viewing screen.]
Miyoko "See? You can't even get the best of four miserable turtles."
Shredder "Turtles? Oh, I'll take care of them once and for all. Rocksteady! Bebop!"
Miyoko "What a jerk. Going off without a thought in his head.
Let the turtles come to us, sonny! Krang, do you have some soldiers handy?"
[Krang laughs.]
Let the turtles come to us, sonny! Krang, do you have some soldiers handy?"
Krang "As many as you need."
Donatello "Now we take this antenna and—"
[The antenna drops back inside the Technodrome and the hatch closes behind it.]
Leonardo "What's going on?"
Michelangelo "Maybe the dudes know we're here."
[Next to where the first one was, another antenna lifts out of the Technodrome.]
Leonardo "Another antenna!"
Donatello "Krang must be switching frequencies to keep anyone from jamming the signal."
[Michelangelo swings over and kicks the antenna off its base, knocking it to the ground.]
Michelangelo "Let the dudes try and stop that jamming."
Raphael "Can we go home now?"
[Blasters mounted on the Technodrome begin firing at them.]
Donatello "Hey-- yah!"
Leonardo "Look out! Laser blasters!"
[The lasers cut their ropes and they fall.]
All "Aah! Aah! Aah! Aah!"
[A hatch opens to catch the turtles and they slide into the Technodrome.]
Donatello "We're inside the Technodrome. Now to get to the mirror controls."
[A zapping sound reaches them.]
Raphael "Now what?"
Leonardo "Foot soldiers, that's what! All right, turtles, Plan B!"
Michelangelo "Right, dude."
All "Turtle power!"
[They battle the Foot soldiers and destroy them.]
Michelangelo "You know, they just don't make Foot soldiers like they used to."
Leonardo "Lucky for us."
[They begin running down a corridor. A sensor near the floor registers their passing and an alarm blares.]
Donatello "Let's find that computer link to the solar mirror."
Shredder "So much for that plan, Mother. The turtles destroyed your antenna."
Miyoko "Mmph. Silly boy. Krang let them destroy a dummy antenna. Now you've got them where you want them."
Krang "See, silly boy? You should listen to your mother."
Miyoko "Krang, what's this?"
Krang "The Technodrome's garbage compactor."
Miyoko "Perfect. Sonny, send Bebop and Rocksteady after the Turtles."
Shredder "Those numbskulls couldn't catch a cold."
Miyoko "I know. That's why I'm sending them. Boy, are you slow."
Shredder "Ohh!"
[Meanwhile, back on Earth, it’s getting hotter and hotter. April has joined Splinter in the lair.]
April "Oh, Master Splinter, I'm worried. If the turtles don't stop Shredder's heat ray soon, the Earth will burn to a crisp."
Splinter "I know. This is a time of grave danger for us all. But the turtles will not fail. At least I certainly hope not."
[The turtles enter a room in the Technodrome and come face to face with Bebop and Rocksteady.]
Bebop "Hey, shell-backs!"
Leonardo "It's Bebop and Rocksteady!"
Raphael "We noticed."
[The mutant pair begin firing at them.]
Rocksteady "It's play time, turtles!"
Raphael "Come on. We can take 'em."
Donatello "There's no time. We've gotta get to the computer room."
Leonardo "Which way is it?"
Donatello "You got me."
[They run, with the two mutants chasing them. A sign on a door reads “This way to computer room”.]
Leonardo "“This way to the computer room”."
Raphael "Right. They seriously expect us to buy that?"
Leonardo "Unless you've gotta better idea."
[They run into the room as they’re begin fired upon. Bebop and Rocksteady start to chase them, but the door closes and they run into it.]
Bebop "Oh!"
Rocksteady "Yow!"
Bebop "Them Turtles pack a punch."
[The turtles stop when they reach a pile of junk.]
Leonardo "Uh-oh. Dead end!"
Raphael "Listen, maybe if we explain to Rocksteady and Bebop that we came the wrong way, they'll let us start over again."
[A door slides shut behind them.]
Donatello "It's a trap!"
Raphael "On the other hand, maybe not."
Michelangelo "Phew! This place smells like a garbage dump."
Leonardo "Wrong. It's a trash compactor."
Raphael "I resent this. We may be poor, but we're not trash."
Leonardo "Come on, guys. Uhhn! This thing is gonna crush us."
[All four push against a wall of the compactor, but it keeps moving inward.]
Donatello "Uhh! It's no use. We can't stop it."
Michelangelo "Didn't we do this in another episode?"
Raphael "Great. We're gonna be turtle pancakes!"
Michelangelo "Awesome notion; two dimensional turtles."
[Donatello tries bracing a pipe between the walls, but it bends and springs up, throwing Donatello.]
Donatello "Aah!"
[Leonardo manages to pry open a door panel.]
Leonardo "Come on, guys. This way leads to the central computer."
Donatello "How do you know?"
[Leonardo points to a sign above the door and Donatello reads it aloud.]
Donatello ""This way leads to the central computer"."
Michelangelo "Oh, get real, dude. We already fell for that once this episode."
Leonardo "This time it'll be different. I promise."
[They exit the compactor and kick down the next door they reach.]
All "Turtle power!"
Shredder "The turtles! Krang, call out your Foot soldiers."
Miyoko "Those terrible green creatures again. I'll have to destroy them."
Krang "Foot soldiers alert!"
Miyoko "No! I won't have you making a mess in here."
Shredder "But, Mother, these turtles aren't going to stand still while we fry their planet."
Miyoko "Oh, yes, they are."
[She manipulates some controls and a dome falls on the turtles.]
Leonardo "Look out!"
Donatello "A force field!"
Leonardo "Hi-yah!
It's too powerful!"
[He tries slicing it.]
It's too powerful!"
Michelangelo "Total bummer. We're trapped!"
Krang "Finally! The conquest of Earth and the defeat of the turtles, and it was accomplished by Shredder's mother!"
Shredder "Ohh!"
Krang "Shredder, don't be angry. I'm sure we can find work for you, perhaps cleaning or cooking! Ha ha ha ha ha!"
Donatello "General Yogure is still free. Maybe he can help us.
Donatello calling General Yogure. Come in."
[He activates his turtlecom.]
Donatello calling General Yogure. Come in."
[A door slides open and General Yogurt is escorted into the room by Bebop and Rocksteady.]
General Yogure "I'm in, but I can't do you much good."
Leonardo "How did they catch you?"
General Yogure "I got worried about you boys, so I came looking for you. There was this sign over a door: "This way to the turtles”, so I went in. These lugs grabbed me."
Raphael "You fell for that sign bit, too."
Miyoko "I always like a man in uniform. Keep an eye on him."
[On Earth, April delivers a news report.]
April "This is April O'Neil. The city, like the rest of the world, is sizzling. In Los Angeles, the desert has reclaimed the city, and the populace is fleeing. The latest news is that the polar ice caps are melting. Even this reporter has been forced to make changes."
[She’s wearing a bathing suit. The villains watch as the Earth fries.]
Miyoko "Ha ha ha ha! I love it. Earth barbecued."
Michelangelo "Dudes, are we just gonna hang here all day and watch Mother Unnatural overcook our planet?"
Leonardo "Now that you mention it, no. But we need a diversion."
Donatello "General, Shredder's mother seems to like you. Why don’t you find out how this force field works?"
General Yogure "I gotcha. Say, did anyone ever tell you you're a whiz at this stuff?"
Miyoko "You think so? My son never appreciated me."
General Yogure "That's a real shame. He doesn't deserve a mother like you. But how'd you figure out all this?"
Miyoko "Simple. This controls the satellite, this operates the force field, this one the screens."
General Yogure "Let me see if I got this right. This one works the screens?"
Miyoko "Don't touch that!"
[He presses the force field button and the turtles are freed.]
Leonardo "Good work, General!"
Rocksteady "Oh, the turtles got loose."
Bebop "Let's get 'em!"
[The turtles duck as the door they’re running towards opens. Bebop and Rocksteady trip over them, falling into the corridor and the door closes.]
Both "Aah!"
Raphael "Mutants. Works every time."
[General Yogurt grabs Miyoko, but not before she presses an alarm.]
Miyoko "Uhh!"
General Yogure "Hold on there, lady."
Miyoko "Attack a poor defenseless woman, will you?"
Donatello "Bring her over here, General."
[The General takes her to Donatello, who holds her in place until the General can activate the force field. Donatello backs up as the force field drops over Miyoko.]
Miyoko "Let me out of here, you bullies!"
Donatello "Guys, keep an eye on the door while the General and I figure a way to wreck that heat ray."
Raphael "Hurry up, you guys."
Donatello "How can we destroy that mirror?"
General Yogure "There's a solar mirror left over from the Star Wars project in Earth orbit."
Donatello "Right. We can use that mirror to reflect that heat ray back through the portal, and wreck Krang's mirror."
General Yogure "You catch on fast, boy."
Donatello "If I can just reposition it so that it intercepts Krang's heat ray, then reflect it back to its source.
It worked!"
[The Star Wars solar mirror slides into position, reflecting the ray back so that it destroys Krang’s satellite.]
It worked!"
[Outside the control room, Bebop and Rocksteady work to blast through the door.]
Shredder "Hurry, you fools!"
Bebop "Worried about your mother, boss?"
Shredder "No. I'm worried about the solar mirror.
Now you will pay."
[They blast open the door and Shredder enters the room.]
Now you will pay."
Miyoko "Oroku, get me out of here!"
Shredder "Mother?"
Donatello "The portal is gonna close in two minutes."
General Yogure "I managed to get the shuttle working just before those two uglies grabbed me."
Michelangelo "Then let's hit the road, dudes."
[They leave the Technodrome and enter the shuttle.]
General Yogure "I didn't have time to test this thing, boys."
Leonardo "So let's give it a field test now."
[They take off and zoom towards the portal.]
General Yogure "It's gonna be close."
Donatello "We're not gonna make it!
We made it!"
[The fly through just as the portal closes.]
We made it!"
[Everyone cheers. On the Technodrome monitor are the scattered pieces of Krang’s satellite.]
Shredder "We can't let the turtles get away with this!"
Miyoko "First things first, sonny. No one is going anywhere until this place is cleaned up."
[Bebop and Rocksteady are vacuuming and sweeping.]
Shredder "Right, Mother."
Miyoko "Your mutants missed a spot."
Shredder "Anything you say, Mother."
Miyoko "My son the arch-villain. Ha!"
Shredder "Enough!"
Miyoko "Shredder, you're not done! Where do you think you’re going?"
Shredder "I'm not going anywhere, Mother, but you are."
[He activates a portal to get rid of her.]
Miyoko "No! Wait!"
Shredder "Ha ha ha ha ha!"
[Miyoko is back at the retirement home.]
Miyoko "Children. They never appreciate their mothers."
[April broadcasts the news as the turtles watch from the lair.]
April "The temperature around the world has returned to normal, and once again our world is safe. This is April O'Neil for Channel 6 News."
Raphael "Once again, we saved the world, and do we get any credit? No!"
Michelangelo "Well, maybe we could get General Yogurt to give us a medal."
Donatello "Face it, guys. We'll never be in the limelight. But at least we know our technology is superior to Krang's."
[Splinter holds up the abacus.]
Splinter "And this very old technology is superior to the new."
