Synopsis[]

January 1st 2015, Urashimada Taro steps in a room saying how nice the weather on the first day of new year, Leonardo greets him and URashimada greets Leonardo back. Leonardo says that it is dangerous and Urashimada sees that there is a huge metal ball coming his way, Urashimada screams and Michelangelo saves Urashimada by grabbing him with a chain and pulling him away. Urashimada thanks him but Michelangelo says that it's still dangerous, as there are three giant metal balls coming their way. Donatello, Leonardo and Raphael cut and bash the metal balls into pieces and Raphael says that Michelangelo did started to slack off before it ended.

Splinter asks if everyone is okay, Urashimada asks what is all this, Splinter ignores him and says otoshidama to the Turtles. Urashimada is surprised and Michelangelo explains that it is a Japanese custom to dodge falling giant iron balls durin new year, Urashimada says that there has been a misunderstanding. Splinter offers the Turtles and Urashimada ozouni (with a slice of pizza on top), osechi (with slices of pizza on top), and leftovers of christmas cake (with pizza slices on top). The Turtles say that there is even hidden pizza taste on the food, to which Urashimada yells that the pizza are not even hidden.

Splinter says that Urashimada should not be a picky eater. Splinter then hands a small envelope to Urashimada, who says that so there really was a proper otoshidama, thanks Splinter, opens the envelope and there is a note inside that says super bad luck. Splinter says that they are fortunes that he himself made, to which Urashimada says that it was unnecessary for him to do that. All the Turtles got medium luck and show their fortunes to Urashimada, but Urashimada notices that Splinter wrote old (古) instead of luck (吉). Splinter says in accusing manner that it is shameful to mistake a kanji, to which Urashimada says that did Slinter not write these.

Splinter changes the subject and says that they should go to a special place for hatsumoude, Splinter says that he found a place that has a ancient japanese goddess, Splinter says that it is only 2 kilometres (1,2 miles) away. Urashimada says that he did not know about it, and since it is nearby, theys should go see it. Next thing Urashimada knows is that they are scaling a mountain, as what Splinter meant was that the place was 1 kilometer straight and then 1 kilometer straight up climbing, total of 2 kilometers. Urashimada thinks that this was more dangerous than what he thought while hanging on the back of Leonardo. The Turtles sit sideways on the mountain, Raphael says that only 500 meters to go so they should take a break. Suddently huge boulders are falling, but Michelangelo uses Leonardo and Raphael as steeping stones and hits the boulder with his nunchaku and breaks the boulder.

The Turtles and Urashimada finally climb up to the top of the mountain and see a small souvenir junk statue of Statue of Liberty with a price tag of 1 dollar. The Turtles and Urashimada are upset. Meanwhile the stall keeper welcomes Splinter, and Splinter sees that he sells souvenir junk Statue of Liberties and thinks to himself that even here there are goddesses.
